  1. Although, I have been out today with my boss in Salford- I convinced him we wanted to start back after lunch late so we could go and find the cache first... muggles were in the way, sadly, but he said we can try again tomorrow!! He he he! I love my job!
  2. I'm getting better. I thought it was all ok, but then I had to travel to Manchester yesterday: no-one else was home, so I had to walk to the train station, then stand about in Euston for an hour as my train was cancelled! And then stand around for 40 mins waiting for my colleague to pick me up, who got stuck in the traffic for Old Trafford!! I'm going to be VERY well behaved for the next few days, and hope I'm better for when I visit my friends in Hove next week- there's a nice set of caches round there!
  3. I'd be up for being part of the team to do the London leg...
  4. Ilfracombe, Devon... I spend every Easter there (although, not this year, much to my absolute distress) And more in Harlow... I had to archive mine (my very first!) yesterday, as it has been well and truly muggled, and I can't afford to replace it at the moment... *sigh* I wish I could at least have the log book back!
  5. Not with my GPSr, but when out caching with my mum on boxing day, I lost my phone (which cost considerably more than my second hand GPSr!)... We were hunting for a series of caches in Northcliffe Woods, Shipley- the first one we found, no problem, and so off we headed for the second site. We spent a good 20 minutes looking, scrabbling around in the bushes and not finding it, at which point I decide to re-read the logs, and look for my phone to log onto the wap site... and I can't find it! I look around, no luck... empty out my caching bag- no sign of it! Oh dear- mum, can you call my phone for me? No, mum left her phone at home. So, my mum walks home (not all that far!) to get her phone, and I walk back to the first cache site, retracing our steps. Mum meets me 15/20 minutes later at the first site, and we start calling my phone... The phone is ringing, it isn't on silent, and no-one has turned it off, which means it probably hasn't been found by someone else. No sound from it at the cache site, so we walk back to the second site, continually re-calling my phone, and but still not being about to find it. We get to the second site, stilling calling away on my mum's phone. We stand really still, listening for any noise from my phone... and there, out of a bush comes my phone's unmistakable ringtone, and I leap into the bush to find it! We then spent another 30 minutes looking for the cache, which we failed to find... and I then walked straight to 2 days later on my way back from picking up another cache with my dad!
  6. I've been thinking about making a signature item since I read this last week, and have just ordered the things I'll need to make 50 felt keyrings of the puppet in my avatar! If they work, they should be quite cool!
  7. Well, I'd agree, but I'm not sure my foot does! Lots of painkillers and it's still painful!!
  8. After a few weeks of a worsening problem with my foot, I was told by the nurse this morning to stay off my foot as much as possible, and when she found out that I do a lot of walking (basically, cos I'm going caching!) that I wasn't to go on any unneccesary walks... and since I don't drive, that pretty much means no caching for the next few weeks! *sigh* Just needed to share my general sadness about the whole thing! Clare xx
  9. Nope, he's Guildford way at the moment! Although thinking about it, maybe he needs a new mission! He was on his way to see my ex, before he was my ex... hmmm... not so sure that's the best place to send him anymore- had forgotten about that!!
  10. My snake TB is trying to get to Budapest... but he's out in a cache!
  11. I've been looking into getting or making some sort of signature item, but haven't found the right thing yet! I have a calling card, but not hugely happy with the design, so once I've run out, I'll redesign them! I found a fish bead from a US team called The Salmons, I think... it was really cute, and they have a way of tracking them on their own website, which I thought was kinda cool! I've only ever knowingly found one other sig item, a keyring from The Hungry Caterpillers. Clare xx
  12. Another one who says "ooooh yes, sounds fun" date and price permitting! (Providing, of course, I have fun on Thursday!! )
  13. I took this whilst out caching today. Is part of a series of sculptures scattered throughout St Ives Estate, Bingley. This one is very close to our last find of the day, Lady B (West Yorkshire).
  14. My newest picture! Clare (not me, the other one I live with) and Raphael, who sometimes come out caching with me (Clare is the wheels behind the operation) at The Water Tower in Harlow
  15. I'm a possible attendee... Just back from Durham today actually, and if I'm due to be in Bradford those dates (I think I am!) then I might just pop up for the day!!
  16. Coins arrived yesterday- they are lovely! Many thanks! Clare
  17. Oh sigh! That's such a shame! I always feel bad when I see people's trackables have gone!
  18. I was checking up on caches on my laptop when working away at a school, and some of the Year 6 children came up and asked me what I was doing- I responded with "Looking for treasure" "But Clare, you can't find treasure on the internet!" "You can if you know where to look!" I then explained geocaching to them, which they thought was very cool, but I'm not sure they believed me it really existed!
  19. Being dragged up a mountain (which I was told was "just a hill" when we were at the bottom) by my caching friend, on my first ever caching trip- it was very much a scrabble up the mountain, due to the mud- I stopped at one place to catch my breath and nearly knocked myself out on a low tree branch I hadn't noticed! Ouch ouch ouch! I was, however, graciously allowed a 2 minute rest before he made me carry on!! I had a lump for a few days!
  20. I've been over the past two weeks and done checks on my caches, and the two that are hidden hidden, I was very impressed to see that they were very well hidden- much better than when I'd last stopped by! Some cachers are very good!
  21. I've got a warm little fuzzy glow... there's hope for all those missing ones yet!
