  1. Hmmm, hard to find big enough places to leave them though...
  2. Hey WW, have you picked a cache yet for your first find?
  3. Mine is now looking much happier, having found it's first 5 caches today... (although sadly, had a DNF as well!) I'm happy!
  4. My house mate often comes caching with me, with her 16 month old son. When we can't take the buggy, she uses his sling, which her mum made for her. If you are or know someone who is a a dab hand with a sewing machine... I'm being told (she's just appeared in the room!) that you should check out the pattern for a "FrankenKozy"... That's what she uses, and has done since he was born... her 3 year old nephew will still fit in it. To buy one ready made is about £50, I'm told! Both she and her husband find it very comfortable (as does the little one!) There are other cheaper ways of doing it too- you can get a long piece of material and tie it on in a specific way. Slings are quite fashionable at the moment, so if you search for them, you should find something suitable!
  5. Sorry. It's going to rain. Hope you're not a 'sunny weather only' cacher! Not where we are. I'm not, although my house mate, who brings her 16 month old tends to prefer the sun... although our first caching expedition together involved a lot of rain... and wading through a stream!!
  6. If you go to Reigate, will you have a look see if my snake TB is still in there? I think he's gone missing... Get to 100 and rescue a TB!
  7. We're all just experts at stelth and general sneakiness! Geocachers- we're like Ninja, only just cooler! And geekier!
  8. I've just spent the last hour happily playing around with the software that does all the exciting technical wizardry (unlike my old second hand one, which I had to put everything in by hand) and being amazed that I can put a stack of caches on in seconds! Hooray! I've also re-arranged my work, so I can have tomorrow afternoon off to go caching with my housemate- woop! Are you excited, WW?
  9. LOL! I can see that from my window!! Good to know someone's enjoyed it!!
  10. Sitting next to me right now is my shiny new eTrex Venture HC, and it is looking very sad and "why haven't I found a cache yet?" I think I'm actually going to explode before I get the chance to go out and play with it tomorrow... Argh!! Just. Want. To. Cache. But. Must. Do. Some. Work. Seriously, I keep picking it up and smiling at it. I'm glad I'm on my own here today, or they'd think I was nuts! Just needed to share my pain/frustration/lunacy! Clare
  11. I'd be interested to see one, whether it was at gc.com, or elsewhere!!
  12. Maybe we should have a Speed Dating thing at the mega bash?! Lol! Could we set up a "Flash Mob Speed Date" event cache bash? I think there's mileage in that! We should get Sonny and Sandy involved- get a whole world wide thing going, for all those single cachers!!
  13. Maybe we should have a Speed Dating thing at the mega bash?! Lol!
  14. Can you listen back on the radio 2 website? Not sure, I haven't got time to check it out, but I think you might be able to!
  15. I think it's a great idea... there's such a big different between a nano and micro!!
  16. As a fellow Harlow-ite, I'm happy to go out with you some time! Message me if you want to!
  17. In conversation with my dad earlier tonight, I happened to mention that I was saving for a new GPSr to replace the really old one I bought second hand when starting out... he just happens to have three spare eTrexs lying around, so he's sending me one... Now, my current GPS is ancient, and I can't connect it to my nice mac laptop... Does anyone have any tips for using it? What sort of cable do they come with (not that I'll necessarily get sent it as well!) and do I need something else to attach it to a PowerBook?? Can you get USB connectors for the eTrex? Any other general tips??! Thanks guys!! CL xx
  18. Well, there's a lovely looking new series of 6 caches in Harlow for me to go out and get... and what did I do yesterday? Worked! *sigh* My job doesn't "do" bank holidays! Sigh! I'm hoping to go out this weekend... After having been ill with one thing or another for AGES, I need to find some more caches!!
  19. OK, less worried now, must just be a problem with the site... Can't or won't?? My friends are fed up with my "oh, but I can't go now, I just need to see if there's any near...."
  20. For some reason, I can't log in to geocaching.com... I've tried switching to an alternate browser, but no luck, yet I'm still logged in here... I can't see anything about planned down time- is anyone else having problems? I'm usually logged in all the time, so for it to have logged me out is strange in the first place... CL xx
  21. Yeah, it looks amazing! Wasn't able to register when I tried, but I thought I'd leave it a bit before bothering them for help, as I've heard there's been a lot of generally crazy busy-ness getting it back online!
  22. Nice one! Hope you've celebrated appropriatly!!!!
  23. Oh, goodness me, I'd PAY to get someone to do that! Bad spelling and grammar is no fun at all!
  24. Hmmm... right, things currently stand at: 3 dings to Minstel Cat 3 dings to jenandberry 2 dings to Dorset Girl 1 ding to Nediam 1 ding to kennamatic Am happy to call it a day at that, and whichever of MC and J&B do it first can set the next question, or to let people try and get the remaining bits... doesn't bother me which way it goes! Any thoughts, anyone?
