  1. In Nashville, TN you can really rack up on caches! Savannah, GA and Myrtle Beach, SC are also good places!
  2. Good.... Im glad to see that there are people interested! I hope more people see this and are interested also! There is no set date yet, only a time frame.... possibly late this year or spring of 2007.
  3. Yes this is a great area! I plan to have some temporary caches if not some permanent ones in the area! Thanks for the pointer, I am a member of GeocKY so I will post it in the forums there!
  4. Well.. Nobody said that there would have to be a cache every .10 mi. Only that the restrictions be loosened up a little! I recently experienced a similar problem when hiding caches along a trail! I dont understand how you can make a rule that says caches can be placed every .10 mi but then turn around and say you can saturate the area??? I dont understand, I agree that this rule should be loosened up a little!
  5. Good, glad to know at least one cacher is interested! Try and talk to some of your fellow cachers, and see if you can get them interested in it! I know I will have all local cachers from the area, I'd say 30+ to attend, but I would like to have cachers from nearby states that would like at attend!
  6. Just as I figured, no responses! Come on people lets make this work!
  7. Well if not this year, next Spring would be a great time to schedule the Event! I hope to have a large turnout if all goes well! I figure that this would be a 3 day weekend Event (that could change). Input please??
  8. Greetings everyone! I would like to plan a large event! This Event would/ will take place in The Breaks Interstate Park! “The Grand Canyon of the South” The Breaks Interstate Park This State Park is shared both by Kentucky and Virginia being that it is on the Stateline! This park has an 82-room lodge with conference center and restaurant; also with a campground with 122 Campsites to chose from with Utilities with Cabins. The park is also home to the 12-acre Laurel Lake, which is very popular with Water Sports lovers and is also stocked with a variety of fish! There is a swimming pool and horseback riding for those who wish to take a break from it all. Also there are more than 15 miles of Hiking Trails that lace the park varying in difficulty. There is also a nearby Golf Course. The park also has an Amphitheater, which houses a variety of performances. The park is also home to some 11 active Geocaches! There are some 254 caches within 30 miles of this park, all within a 1-hour radius around from the park! And is very much possible to find in a 2-3 day period! There are 30+ Geocachers in the area! When searching for nearby caches in this area, use zip code (24607). Ultimately my goal would be to draw local and non-local cachers from nearby states alike to the area! This area is very beautiful and has many things to offer! This is a great place to bring the family, pick up a few caches, relax and enjoy nature! I would like to get some input from cachers in the surrounding area who would be interested in attending! Please give me your thoughts! Who would be interested in attending this sort of Event? Thanks *I will be posting this in both the South East and North East regional Forums so that cachers in those areas can read about it! Plus the park is both in Virginia and Kentucky! 10. *** Just a bulletin to let everyone know, Cache Across America - Virginia should be placed by next Friday with the help of Agents Mulder and Scully! I am really excited about working with another cacher on this one! Well..... I will keep you posted!
  11. Reflections is a great cache!!! It is one of my favorites!
  12. Greetings, I am looking to find some caches while on vacation to the Williamsburg area of Virginia, and Virginia Beach also next week! Are there any neat caches that stick out there?? I am also going to attend an even in Virginia Beach this Saturday, if I dont get my question answered here, maybe I can find out while at the event! But please let me know something. I am interested in getting to know cachers of that area, and finding some neat caches! Thanks
  13. Just another question! Are we putting SWAG in the caches?? I dont know if I missed it earlier being discussed or not??
  14. I'm "the guy" from Central VA. If you're going to Williamsburg, will you be passing through close to Lynchburg or Richmond? I wouldn't mind helping to manage the cache, do maintenance, etc. But Williamsburg is near the East Coast, a several-hour drive for me. (I'm on the outskirts of Lynchburg.) Richmond is the state capital, more in the center of the state, and would only take me a little over an hour to get to. If you're looking for good history, Appomattox may be worth considering too, and is even closer. Virginia map It's your cache, so it's up to you. Just wanted to add my .02 in case you may need a local to help with maintenance in the future. Happy 4th!! ---Agent Scully (Tammy ) Thanks for your input, Richmond sounds like a good place! I will gather materials to hide the cache, and when we pass through I will try to hide it! What is the container I should use?? Are they using Ammo Cans??? or what?? Let me know!
  15. Hello, I volunteered for Virginia since I live on the state line with Kentucky! Good news, instead of having the cache in South West Virginia away from the center of the state, I am taking a trip to Williamsburg, VA and I could place the cache around there since it is very historical, I will be there for a week. and I will keep an eye out on the forums in case I need to change something! Please let me know what you think of this idea?? I would be willing to let the guy from Central Virginia to manage the cache if he would like to?? I hate taking another state, but since mine was taken, and I had the opportunity to do this, I couldnt pass it up! Please let me know what you think!!
  16. Dinner at El Azul's Mexican Restaurant! Me and my father went on a cache dash in the local area and one of our local cachers whom we happen to be good friends with took us out to dinner! Thanks (SBCP).
  17. Looks like the Turks, they hacked www.earthcache.org last year!
  18. Wow! Those are pretty cool! I seem to have gotten into the artistic spirit lately, I never thought much about it in the past!
  19. The Nifty Fifty Multi! haha This would be great but I have alreasdy been to Hawaii! I dont think I will ever get the chance to go back!
  20. I actually live in Kentucky, I would like to do it! But I live on the KY VA border. so I could maintain a VA cache!
  21. Im sure cachers in Florida and us who have cached in Florida are very familiar with these: These are Banana Spiders, very popular in the South Eastern states, ecspecially Florida! These spiders often spin webs across paths, I have walked into these webs before and been "close lined" by the element of surprise. I always carry a stick with me to remove the webs and their gaurdians from my path when caching! As far as I know, these Spiders arent poisonous just very big and scary looking!
  22. Everytime I get on here, there is always a topic with the words TB Motel or Micro in the title. Geez! Enough is enough! Leave things the way the are!
