  1. I haven't put my 500 down since I got it and I've noticed that the basemap is mostly close. In general terms it gives a pretty good indication, but I wouldn't use it to get myself out of a sticky situation. I've also noticed that it moves around quite a bit. I will learn to live with it for now until I can take a second loan out on the car to buy the Topo software.
  2. No snow in London. 2happy Clause brought a Magellan 500LE. We're going to go check out a couple of spots in the fog later. Merry Christmas.
  3. I just replaced my 10 year old Magellan 2000XL with the eXplorist 500LE. I'm extremely impressed with this unit. I like the battery clip and it seems to be working quite well with the Duracell rechargeables that I have in there now. I will be keeping some spares and old faithful handy though...for the first little while anyways. I may or mat not opt for the Li-ion cell. The receiver came with a coupon for the battery but who knows if it is still valid.
  4. I tried to e-mail you to confirm that payment has been sent but it was returned as undeliverable - the e-mail. I also can't access the list. For whatever reason the link won't work on my computer at home or here at work. Cheers,
  5. I know this is a couple of weeks too late; but, kudos Landsharkz for a premium coin and for the superb service. I am completely impressed with my first series of coins and I will be lurking on your site for future releases.
  6. I'll be happy when my 100km radius has no unfound caches left in it. Until then the GPSr comes with me like my guitar.
  7. I make goals for myself. Things I'd like to acheive in my lifetime. Geocaching has become one of those, in that, the adventures that we take planning and executing caches are building lasting memories for all of us. I hope that I can pass this down to my child(ren).
  8. Caching is the best way to get out of the house and do something different with your existence. Each one is a new challenge (mostly) and there is always something new to see and do. I don't intend to grow old sitting on a couch, farting, and singing commercial jingles!
  9. There are a lot of great spots around the Barrie area if you're interested.
  10. I would like to know if any interested cachers in the Barrie area would like to co-plan a CITO for 14 April 2007? Please either respond here or to me directly. Let's do our bit to help clean up this wonderful city. Cheers,

  12. Thanks, that helps, a lot. Cheers,
  13. Does anyone have any information on benchmarks within Canada? I've tried to look them up countless times to no avail. I know they're logged, but I can only assume that they're not logged on Groundspeak. If this is the case, then I would be interested in any Geocachers in the Barrie, Ontario area possibly logging in some of these/creating benchmark caches. I know from experience that benchmarks are not only interesting, but in some pretty interesting spots. Cheers,
  14. I'm looking for someone who may be able to help in finding a retailer that sells geocoins. I live near Toronto, Canada and am willing to travel in order to find some. Note: I would like to avoid interet transactions if at all possible
  15. Does anyone know if there is a CITO event planned for the Petawawa/Pembroke area for 22 April? I think this would be a fantastic idea and would love to co-helm the adventure if there are any interested parties. Please get a hold of me through these means if any of you are interested so that planning can begin and we can get it posted. Two weeks to go, we can pull this off. Cheers,
