  1. Ending up getting a reply in my email about the membership. Geocaching.com showed nothing on their end. I sent them my receipt and they activated the membership.
  2. It's a year later ad I have the same issue. In the help session it says to log out and in. That didn't work. It also suggests this: If you are using a GPS, you need to upload a List or Pocket query to your device. Trouble there is you need a premium membership to do that. It's Saturday so I'll wait until Wednesday for a reply. If none, I contact my credit card.
  3. Thanks guys. That makes it easy!
  4. Hi, I'm new to paperless. I can send a cache from the website to my GPS. Once logged, on my GPS, as found (or not) can I then send the info back to my account on Geocaching.com or do I have to load it manually. I have a Garmin 62S. Thanks.
  5. The screen on my Meridian has a very thin blank spot that runs from the top to the bottom of the screen. It goes right down the center. Nothing appears in that area. It is small enough that I can still use the unit without any problems. It's more irritating than anything else. It's out of warranty. I wrote Magellan and they said to send it to them. I plan on doing that in a couple of weeks after I've finished doing some caches I have planned. Has anyone experienced this sort of thing? Hopefuly the whole unit is not about to fail. I'v had it about 14 months. Thanks, The dog Cache as cache can.
  6. I'm back in business. After looking more closely (as you suggested) I found that I could set it for Degrees and Minutes. When I did that it showed 42'47.72N on the 310. The Meridian had 47'42.725N. Now both units show the same location on Mapsend. Thanks everybody, for your help. I'd have never found anything with the 310 the way I had it set up! By the way, I haven't heard from Magellan yet. I figured this would be a quicker way to get results. Thanks again, The dog Cache as cache can.
  7. I have a Magellan Meridian and a Magellan 310. I just picked up the 310 as a backup for geocaching and so my wife and I could both use one. When I stand in my driveway I get different readings. I have plugged them both into Mapsend Topo and the Meridian is right on. The 310 is off by about 1/4 mile to the southeast. I have reinitialized the 310 to no avail. The degrees and minutes are the same on both. The seconds on the Meridian show 725N and 262W. The 310 shows 44N and 16W. I have sent a question off to the Magellan website but it will probably be a while before I hear from them. Anybody have any thoughts? Thanks, The Dog Cache as cache can.
  8. I got my Magellan Meridian through GPSonsale.com. They are in California. I was unable to find a better price. Cache as cache can.
  9. I live in Western New York. Pretty soon the snow will be here. I just got into caching this past Spring. Do people still plant caches this time of year? I'd be more than willing to strap on the snowshoes and head out. Cache as cache can.
  10. Magellan just replied and said the NiMhs are o.k. but I will get an incorrect reading on my battery level. Has anyone had this experience? Cache as cache can.
  11. Magellan just relplied and said the NiMhs are o.k. but I will get an incorrect reading on my battery level. Has anyone had this experience? Cache as cache can.
  12. Can I use rechargeable NiMh batteries in my Magellan Meridian GPSr? I've asked Magellan several times but they haven't responded. I was advised not to use the NiCd batteries in my digital camera because of the heat they can generate. I have the NiMhs and it would be a lot cheaper than buying new batteries all the time. Thanks Cache as cache can.
  13. On this website it says if you don't have a GPSr that can average, you should get 7-10 readings before coming up with the coordinates for placing a cache. I have a Magellan Meridian that says it has averaging. Does this mean that all I have to do is read the coordinates when I'm where I want to place the cache, and then post them so they can be searched for? It seems to easy. Thanks. Cache as cache can.
  14. My wife and I found our first two yesterday. I originally got the GPS for hiking in the Adirondack Mountains in New York State. That's still the plan but I expect it will see more use looking for caches. Cache as cache can.
