  4. We had a lot of fun last year and we picked up 10 or 11 bags of trash. We'll be back again this year ready to clean up.
  5. I wanted to share the coin find story to anyone who may want to read it. I work for a retailer that's corporate offices are in the next town up form where DeLorme is located. I don't always work in that town but I was the day the coin came out. I got a couple of alerts that a coin had been placed so I left work and ran down to the cache site (don't tell my boss). The cache the coin was in is on DeLorme property on the edge of a big field. When I got there I saw a few people playing Frisbee right next to the caceh. I went around through the woods to get to the cache and when I got there I looked up and everyone was leaving. I figured there break was over and they were headed back to work, but when I signed the log there was a note asking that whoever picked up the coin come into the store so they DeLorme team could meet them. In the store I got to meet a few of the team and had a nice chat. they took my picture next to Eartha. They told me they would be placing the coins as they traveled around the country. I was very fortunate to get one of the coins, they are very cool.
  6. We went to the event today and It was great! We have been to many events and have been handed discount coupons (that we never used). We have been to events where cacher's bought and donated items to be given away. We have been to events where business's donated items to be given away. In some cases the donator's names were listed as event sponsors, other times they weren't. Today was about CITO. We collected about twelve bags of trash and everyone that I saw at the event brought trash. DeLorme paid to dispose of the trash. They also donated food and had some nice prises to give away. The event was outside and no one ever said "here take a coupon and go spend money in our store". The coupons were on a table you could take one or not. I thank DeLorme for holding the event we had a good time and a lot of trash got cleaned up. Maybe the trash would have been picked up with out an event maybe not. Either way it was nice to gather and meet fellow cachers for a good cause. In the end where we choose to spend our money is up to us. Cache Happy ~ Team Richards
  7. Thasnkyou~ I have tried using the coordinates of our home, (entered in as a set of coordinates) I have also tried using our home town zip code and the zip code of the closest city and the coordinates of the closest cache to our house. Every time I change the coordinates I out the notification log out of GC.com, log back in and build a new notification with the different coordinates. This has been going on for weeks now. i'm starting to think the FTF's have put a hex on my account.
  8. I am having trouble with my notifications. I have tried a few things but I still am not getting them any more. I have tried using my cell phones email address, my default Hotmail address, I set up a new gmail account because I was told that would work better, but no luck. I have the notification set to the different types of caches. I have changed the distance from my home coordinates from 10 to 50 miles (By tens) I have changed my home coordinates from what they are to the ground zero coordinates of my town. I have outed every thing logged out logged back in a rebuilt all the notifications. I have the notifications set to notify me when a new cache is published. Any suggestions?
  9. It was more that I had seen it done, but couldn't figure out how they had done it. I guess it could seem "cutesy" or it could be used to make a part of the log stand out. Thanks for your help
  10. Can someone please explain to me how to change the color of the text when logging a cache online? Thanks
  11. I would like one please. thank you
