  1. I've tried both (GPS and Iphone) and I have to say I LOVE my Iphone with the paid app. It seems to be more accurate, has less trouble under tree cover, and shows me better sat maps. I had trouble with battery too, so instead of buying a $300 GPS unit, I bought this charging case and it's made of amazing for recharging in the field. The paid app is WELL worth the money, IMHO. I also use the Perfect Mark app for puzzle caches.
  2. Hi and welcome! I'm sorry you didn't get the friendliest response off the bat. I'm new here too. I just use the Iphone app and it's fantastic. For puzzle caches, etc. if you have an Iphone you may want to get an app called Perfect Mark. It's amazing how much easier it gets after you find a few and get used to what you're looking for. I'm not brave enough for a kayak - but I bet that would be loads of fun. See you around! Oh and there are meets and local groups - they are listed regionally in the forum.
  3. I've been seeing that too. Sometimes double clicking zooms you in and fixes it, sometimes not.
  4. Pocket Queries are great! I love having the ability to add a route as a query and it saving to my phone. I also love this search if I'm just noodling around on my laptop looking at descriptions, difficulty, etc.: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/default.aspx for just pure proximity. If you just want to save a few to your Iphone, this is a quick and easy way to get a little radius. HTH!
  5. Hi! Newbie here. I just wanted to let you know that the link to the paperless wiki is dead in the FAQ post. Thank you for a great site!
