That's exactly why I'm preparing to release my Compass Rose in a cloak. What I've done is scan both sides of the coin, cut them out then place them into one of those little air tight plastic coin holders. The tracking number is very viable and can be logged/tracked. I know, I know, its not the real thing but the real thing would be lucky to last 24 hours. I did explain on the web page that the real thing isn't in the cache and posted a picture there. After all I did buy the tracking number and I want to use it and remove the temptation to pocket the coin.

Rules for collecting geocoins: 1. Only buy a few a week and pick them up at the post office. 2. Never and I mean Never open the envelope when she's around. 3. Don't put them in a binder, showcase, or anywhere all together... they're to easy to count. Keep them in multiple locations in small groups. 4. Buy some you don't even want just so you can sell them on eBay and she sees you're not just hording them all. 5. Give her a few so you can justify yours with "you have some too". 6. Don't ever under any circumstances let her see your PayPal account. 7. Keep your bags packed.

When did the Connecticut coin become available? Was there a thread I missed or something? Who made and sold them? I see a bunch of them on eBay now and don't remember them being available to the general public. Is this another ebay only coin and if so maybe Groundspeak should take a closer look at intended distribution plans before shelling out the tracking numbers.
