  1. Hi, I'm interested in your opinions about complaining about a poor log. I placed a cache yesterday: worked on it for weeks, I think it's a nice hide and certainly from my perspective, a lot of work went into it. Someone found it today and all I got in the log was "That was a little different. TFTC".
  2. That's interesting consider 1.8 is completely identical to 1.7 except for the version number. (only newer GC had 1.8 and Magellan never offered 1.8 to the public). I wonder if the updater thinks 1.8 is an invalid version and won't update the unit. There are ways I know for sure where you could get ver 2.15 on it but if Magellan told you to send it back, send it back and get a new one. I've definitely got version 1.7 and it won't update for me.
  3. I've had no luck upgrading using the Apple Mac version, I get an error box with the message: 'Incorrect GPS device connected for this upgrade!' I've downloaded the upgrade twice and the same error message pops up. Has anyone had any luck updating the GC software using a Mac? Thanks.
  4. Password to download the update? What's up with that: I don't have a password I don't think. The update doesn't appear on the Australian Magellan website, we're still on version 1.7.
  5. I got a GC this week and run a Mac. Previously I've just been using my iPhone with the Geocaching.com app which has been wonderful, I wanted the GC for additional coverage, but for ease of use the app is fantastic. I ran my first ever pocket query, which saved as a folder named '9921228'. Unzipped it into two files, one with the extension -wpts.gpx (waypoints) and the other just .gpx. I dragged these into the corresponding folders on the GC. Worked really well, I now have 1000 caches loaded close to home. No pictures came across however, which I understand is par for the course with the .gpx files. Any ideas how to transfer pictures to the GC using an Apple Mac?? Cheers!
