  1. At least that way we could get some daylight. Something in rare supply as we head into the winter. Otherwise I'm gonna have to find and dust off my +2 Flashlight of Illumination. DirtRunner. Your not first...But you could be next.

Agaric may be a bit dim-witted if he doesn't realize that he/she has answered the question in the first paragraph of his/her post: __...I cant figure out what geocaching.com caters to the U.S. market so much. I realize there are more people and more geocachers...__ keep in mind that it is US birds, US technology and US GPSrs that keep the sport going. We are willing to share these with the world... anyone with an interest. Now someone wants to be critical of the US website that supports it. BTW Agaric would you like your geese back? Trudy. I believe the situation was well in hand and there wasn’t really a need for you to say anything. Yes, we all know that it’s the good ol’ US of A that put it all together and allowed the rest of the world to use it, we are all grateful that you are willing to share your toys with us, so why rehash in such a tone? Makes you look petty and like your fishing for a complement. Here, let me give you one. You are truly American… Oh, and in case your wondering, I don’t dislike Americans, I just don’t like you… DirtRunner. Your not first...But you could be next.
  3. With Christmas coming and all I would like to get two things out there; one is good and other is bad. One. I HATE IT WHEN THE OLD LADY LETS ME BUY STUFF FOR MYSELF BEFORE CHRISTMAS BUT THEN WONT LET ME USE ANY OF IT UNTIL AFTER DECEMBER 25!!! It’s like I’m afraid to buy myself a bag of chips without my one and only coming at me at the speed of sound, snatching said delectables out of my badly salt craving hands and scooting it away for “Christmas”. On one hand, OK, I don’t need that new compass right now, but Geez! Everything can’t be for Christmas woman! It’s like she gets out of shopping for me by letting me do all the work and then snatching it away just before I get to use it. And Two. Little Girl and I came up with the perfect camouflage for Christmas shopping for her this weekend, We told her that we were going Geocaching…and she bought it! The Silly Girl! Little does she suspect our true motives! Buwwwaaaaaaa hahahahahah!!!! This way we can be out of the house for a couple of hours without having her pawing me for any receipts or other goodies with I might have in my pockets when I get back. Everything stays in Dora until I can get it to work. I don’t know what it’s like around your house but it takes a strong man to get between my wife and her Christmas gifts. Never mind the Spanish inquisition re-enactment I suffer through for the last weeks before the big day. (No one ever expects the Spanish inquisition!!! Our main weapon is Surprise and fear, our two, TWO! Main weapons are….) This way, I can play it Cooooooool. “Yea baby, I know it’s coming, I’ll get out there some day, don’t worry baby…” Then follow up this statement with a Finger-Gun motion and make some click-click sounds while winking... She'll say something like “Oh DirtRunner Baby! You treat me so bad....” And I'll say something like “That's right baby! That's just the way you like it.” And then I'll make the Finger-GunSoundWink motion again for additional crushing effect. Oh Yea, Daddy done good this year... DirtRunner. 4. quote:If you truly believe that you would be better served by a separate and distinct '.ca' cache hunting site (remember, you wouldn't be able to use the term 'GeoCaching', since that belongs to Groundspeak), by all means ...assemble the money, time, and talent to go start one up and _maintain_ it. If within a year of the site being launched you have as many Canadian caches listed 'coast-to-coast-to-coast' as GeoCaching.com, I'll eat the paper that this post is printed on ! ...And I'll eat the monitor I just read this on... Hear! Hear! Canuck! Just what I was thinking! DirtRunner Your not first...But you could be next.
  5. You Da Man! It is so obvious you work your butt off to make sure that this site serves the world. All my Respect DirtRunner. Your not first...But you could be next.

  8. Hey! If you all want to be 100% safe from not only terrorists, but also crime and other bad things that might befall you, the answer is very simple... Just give up all your personal freedoms and all your rights as an individual to the Government... Me, I’d rather take my chances, I may die early, but at least I lived as a free man. Look, it’s a war. No matter what anybody says, if you want to take on Terrorism and other elements that would like to see our way of life vanish forever, your going to get a bloody nose, and your hair is going to get mussed up. Who cares, I used to work bar security for a couple of years, I never looked for trouble, but when it happened, I was never afraid of a little slap and tickle to make sure that the problem was resolved as quickly as possible. As soon as the western world realizes that they are going to get hurt but the long-term rewards far exceed the short-term pain, the war against the terrorism will be on its way to being won. 9. When Going down a Dune, make sure the transmission does the breaking. Never break on an incline, and never stop at the top of a summit. But, I am sure you already know all that DirtRunner. Your not first...But you could be next.

Don't care, you never go one web site soliciting people to leave the web site in favor of another, whether that site exists or not is irrelevant. I'm with Cache Canucks on this one after looking at some of the evidence, the user probably was a kid, trying to be grown up, and is feeling pretty rejected now, after we all went Pompeii on him. If that is the case, Mr. A, please don’t go away, come back and learn about the hobby. (Sport?) Everyone here is more than happy to help you with what ever you need. We really are all nice people once you stop baiting us... There you have it DirtRunner. Your not first...But you could be next.

  13. UMC, I spent 2 years, 111 days in the Middle East; it's not as bad as you think. Although sometimes it is worse than you can imagine. I have faith that the people who will organize this will be respectful of local customs. Nobody lasts for long that can't abide by the local laws and customs. Sorry, you are way, way out of your league here. DirtRunner. Your not first...But you could be next.
  14. Ye Gods! Why dost thou Mock ME! All these get togeathers on the west side of town! People live and cache on the East side too you know! How about something central to Toronto, like in High Park or something ? Just Spitballing DirtRunner. Your not first...But you could be next.
  15. OK, OK, I admit that I was more than harsh, but he was being more than stupid. When I first started, I didn't dare go peep until I got out there and got a few caches under my belt, I lived on the boards and except for one topic, I have never been "Markwelled" We don't need people in the sport with a militant streak after zero big finds. As for Totevo, you guys killed him, not me. But I didn't really see anything wrong with his post; I saw it akin to a newbie asking who was near or from his hometown. But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I hope to God that every one of the Canadian regulars at least has a "sense" of me to know when I am serious and when I am goofing on someone. My last post was serious with a goofing on someone twist at the end. Don't try this at home kids; I'm a professional... It's OK to be inquisitive, but not to be disrespectful. Thanks DirtRunner. 16. Hmmmmm... I wonder if this troll owns or is somehow involved with the www.geocaching.ca domain. Sure! Lets get our own web site!! Now! Never mind Jeremy and everything he's done! Burn him! BBBUUUUURRRRRNNN the Witch! And then lets all build a bridge out of him... DirtRunner. Your not first...But you could be next.
  17. No, no, no, nooooo!! Don't retire. You’re not wrong but the way that some are steering the sport is wrong. If you don't want to hunt for $$ then don't! Just keep on doing exactly what you are doing. Nobody should be made to feel out of step just because of the latest flavor of the week. I wouldn’t. Neither should you. 18. Jeremy... Is there any chance of you setting up a similar deal like you currently have with Offroute.com with GPSCanada or any other distributor in Canada ? The discounts look really good and I sure would love some discount action up here in the great white north. Thanks DirtRunner. Your not first...But you could be next.

    Ammo Cans

Hey! I found an Army Surplus store in Oshawa. If you need ammo cans they have them there at the same prices as in Toronto. Stopped by today and it's got just about everything you could think of, including a WWII bazooka... hmmmmm...WWII Bazooka... Anyway, here's the address Hero Army Surplus 1240 Phillip Murray Ave. Unit #11 Oshawa, ON. L1J 6Z9 Or Follow This Link to thier web site. Now you know. DirtRunner. But 10 bucks a can I can handle, maybe I'll head out there on Saturday and pick up a few... Thanks! You're my Hero Man! DirtRunner. Your not first...But you could be next.
  22. Hey! I was just reading about the new compass at the Groundspeak store and I wanted everyone to get some input on what they would like for Jeremy to sell and how much they would be willing to pay for it. Lately, it's been cameras (expensive and intrusive, also of limited value), License Covers and now those nickel plated compasses that I worry about the life of, also pretty expensive... What would we like to see for sale at the Groundspeak store and how much would you be willing to pay for it? I don't want anything for nothing, but overall, I seem to feel that the prices of some of the stuff is really crazy, especially after you convert it to Canadian pesos. SO I'll start it off... Jeremy; I would like to see bronze, silver and gold lapel stars. Bronze for 50 Finds, Silver for 100 Finds and Gold for 250 Finds. So If I had 300 finds I could wear a Gold and Bronze star on my caching outfit. These stars would cost about $6 US each or less. There, you all get the idea now; lets all see what we can come up with. Thanks DirtRunner. Your not first...But you could be next.
  23. Yea! I've been waiting too for someone to do all the work but it just doesn't happen as fast as I would like. Closest I saw was one in Georgetown, how about a get togeather in TO? Say a night out in the core, that way we'll all be close to the GO when it's time to go home. Anyway, just a thought, somebody go organize it and notify me when it's all set up. DirtRunner.
