  1. whoops! Fixed the link, thanks for the heads up Knight2000.
  2. I have one, well I WILL have one, for you 007 if you want one.
  3. They aren't even up yet, in case you were wondering. If they are, I haven't seen them yet
  4. Hey everybody! LOOK! It's George Bush posting in the Off Topic Forums! I hear he is giving away a ride on Air Force One! Go check it out!!!! (muahahahahha)
  5. I started out with some binders....... I filled two up pretty fast, and quickly decided that they are too expensive to use, so I made this... Once that was full, I switched to the slightly less sophisticated method, shown below... Now I have coins laying all over the house, in my car, in my desk at work... you name it.
  6. This may be old news, but I didn't see it anywhere by searching. There's a website (www.takitwithme.com) that allows you to "upload Google My Maps directly to your Garmin GPS or convert them to GPX format." Has anyone used this feature yet?
  7. Looks like the sale has been postponed until 8pm EST guys. Now, I know you won't find out anything about that on the webpage, but I have a man on the inside see .... so no one needs to log on at 7pm at all! That's right... everyone log on at 8pm to buy the coins instead of 7pm. I know...I know... it just isn't right for them to delay the sale like that, but these things just happen from time to time and you have to go with the flow. I'm just as upset as you are about this, and believe me, I just might let my wallet do the talking. I may only buy 3 coins instead of four. That'll show em! so 8pm, not 7pm. everyone got that? good. See you at 8! note: The above is an outright lie intended to buy myself enough time to buy a coin or two. Please don't believe anything I say. Yes, the coins will go on sale at 7pm. If anyone actually believes me and logs on at 8, and misses out on a coin, I'm going to feel like crap for quite some time, so i would rather not hear about it.
  8. Not sure, but I know I checked it.... you know.... just in case.
  9. I agree... you all go on about your business. There's no need to stay by your computer all weekend. Go on.. go out, have fun! It's just a coin afterall. I tell you what. You guys go ahead and do what ever it is you have to do. Mow the lawn, take the kids to see a movie. I'll volunteer to stay around and keep an eye on things. If I see the coins go up, I will give you a call. Fair enough? (muahahahahahaha)
  10. I recieved my package today, and was completely floored. I have nothing in my collection that could compare, but I'm going to do my very best to make the reciepient of my coins just as happy as I am. Package goes out tomorrow!
  11. straight from the woot-off to the FSM geocoin rush... what a weekend this is turning out to be! can someone please pass the red bull?
  12. I pre-ordered my coins, but was unable to attend GW5 because of a last minute "suggestion" from my company, that I really oughta come to work instead. Anyway, my coins were sold to others at the event because there were folks there throwing cash at them, and I was no where to be found. I probably would have done the same thing... So I am now on the waiting list for new coins but I'm not really in a hurry to get them. I figure they will show up eventually and when they do, I can release one, put one on my display rack, and trade the other two. I really don't understand why some folks are so worried about it though, unless there is a fear that they aren't really getting any coins for the money they paid. It isn't like you are waiting on a kidney transplant, or your paycheck from work. It's a geocoin.... a piece of metal with some art stamped on it. While it's a cool piece of metal, that represents a large event, it's still not the end of the world if it's a week late, or even a month late. I understand that some folks have a problem with the way the GW5 folks are responding to all of this, but put yourself in their shoes for a moment, and think about all of the hard work that they had to do, all of the organization, paperwork, money handling etc etc. That was a huge undertaking that isn't over just because the event itself is. I'm sure by hosting such a large event, their stress levels were highly elevated, and they probably just reacted the way they did because of all of the stress right now. I say cut them some slack, and be patient. Your coins will show up soon. BTW, Just to update you a little more....the person in charge of shipping the coins will be attending MWGB, so the coins are not going to ship until after that event, so it will be next week sometime before they go out the door. If you need something to keep your mind off of the GW5 coin until then, keep in mind the FSM coin is coming out real soon, so you can be getting your F5 key ready!
  13. Missionfish still has not listed the organization, so I resumed some auctions the "old way" and am about to list some more coins this week. If Missionfish ever lists Skye's org, then I will more than likely begin selling under their name so that the money goes directly to them instead of through missionfish. I sold a few geocoins that were not for Skye, and I stopped all "Skye" auctions while I did that so no one would get confused about where their money was going. Now that those auctions are over, I will resume Skye's auctions. As for Skye herself... She is AMAZING! She is set to go home on the 20th, which is this coming weekend. That's right... HOME! Hopefully by then she will be able to walk with little assistance. I think that once she does go home, her recovery will become more rapid.
  14. Here's a recent log on one of my travelers..... it pretty much says it all.
  15. I just got back form the post office. I sent 6 international packages, all in #000 white bubble mailers. I printed the postage from home using Endicia.com / Dymo 3 piece labels. I used the default international service that came up in the software after I entered the international address, and hit "print" I took them by the post office to verify the postage amount. I asked about customs forms (These went to Canada and Australia) and she told me that they did not require any forms because she was entering them as "correspondence" when she checked my postage. All amounts were exactly what the post office would have charged me. The cheapest was $1.00 to Canada and the most expensive was $2.72 to Aus. (it was heavy). I have, in the past, done the same thing and just stuck them in the mailbox. All packages arrived to their destinations, but today I wanted to verify that. She told me that they could indeed ship as is. No extra postage, no forms, nada.... I Hope that helps. EDIT: Spelling
  16. Things go missing. You made the decision to leave your coin in the woods, so go ahead and make the next logical step... let go of it. If you want to lessen the chance that somebody will steal your coin, then try drilling a large hole in it or something like that. Search the forums, there are lots of topics about keeping your coin "in the game". Releasing photocopies is not a guaranteed way to keep it from being stolen. Imagine someone puts your photocopy into a cache that requires some major hiking. Joe-geocacher sees that coin's icon in the cache listing. It's the closest cache to him with an actual geocoin in it! Woohoo! So he decides to go make that tough hike so that he can see his first geocoin. 5 hours later, sweat pouring from his forehead, he pops the lid on the ammo can and all he sees is a laminated picture of your coin..... How would you feel if that were you? Would you CITO that laminated picture of a coin? I just might.... If you are going to release a geocoin, then release it.... but if you are going to release a picture of your geocoin, then do us all a favor and just don't release anything at all.
  17. Travelers in Tube Torcher II have the potential to be there a while. When it was first published, lots of cachers went after it, so there were finders pretty often, but recently the "found it" logs have started to slow down. The cache owners do try to remove any that have been there a while and get them moving again, but it takes quite an effort, even for the cache owners, to visit the final location. So a traveler could possibly be there for quite a long time. The travelers that I left were owned by me, and I expected them to sit there for a while. I don't sweat it much when they get placed in a super tough cache like TT2, because I know that at least they won't be muggled! The owners of some of the other travelers may feel differently though, but I'm sure if they dropped the cache owners an email, they would try to get out there soon and remove them.
  18. I left 6 geocoins in Tube Torcher II (GCWA47) A acouple of them were activated, the majority were swag. I also left a couple of traders in Bradley's Bottom.
