  1. Thanks for the advice! If anyone else can offer me further advice on what to look out for if I do this, please let me know.
  2. On my first geocaching trip with my father and a couple of friends (with kids) we set out to find 3 caches, but we only found two. After I signed up for my own account, I went back to the one location where we failed the previous time and found the cache. It was the only one with swap items in it. I can understand why having a nicely stocked cache can be a good thing when you have kids in tow and to be honest, finding that particular cache made my day too. The fact I was able to take out a trackable made me feel I was a part of the community. So having well-stocked caches might also be a good thing to entice new cachers until they're addicted enough not to care too much about anything but a dry logbook.
  3. A lot of the local caches in the French part of Belgium only have a French description. Access to google translate or a French speaking person in your geocaching team can be quite useful.
  4. I've just started caching and I'm enjoying it, but because I've got no transportation of my own, I'm stuck with the caches in the immediate vicinity of where I'm staying. On top of that. I appear to be pretty good at finding micros in simple terrain, but as soon as terrain gets rough, I seem to overlook even the biggest caches. A couple of pointers and people with more accurate equipment might teach me a lot. I would appreciate it if any experienced cachers or teams in Namur, Belgium would be willing to take me along for a hunt between now and August 18 2012, especially if it involves a cache big enough for me to drop of a trackable. Any takers?
  5. Hello, I signed up for an account just recently, and I managed to find a trackable in one of the caches I found. Since the trackable's page stated it was looking for kid-friendly caches, I figured taking him away from that ravine was a good thing to do, but since then I've had a bit of trouble finding a large enough cache to leave him. Would it be against the rules to let my father or mother grab the trackable from me so they can drop it somewhere? They've got some faraway travels coming up that I know would help the trackable come closer to its goal. Would it be frowned upon to hand off a trackable to someone else, or would it be okay since I'm helping it achieve its goal?
