  1. I will be in Halifax on Tuesday - let me know if I can be of assistance. You can email me through my profile page http://www.geocaching.com/profile/default.asp?A=62052 Cheers...Cache Test Dummy illegitimus nil carborundum
  2. If you feel that having a "finish line" cache would streamline the race, I can provide something along these lines in Moncton, NB. I suppose it would also be nice to have someone return, or re-release the bugs once the race is done (which I could also do). If this is a direction the group wants to go, I can be reached through the email on my profile page. Cheers... illegitimus nil carborundum
  3. Aye - we meet again Argus I personally use mostly pc based software through Virtual PC. It is slow, but workable. I am aware of a couple of GPS communication programs that are available for Mac, but I have not tried them. illegitimus nil carborundum
  4. Sorry Car 37 & Shnde, Windows only. It is usable under Virtual PC for it's mapping ability (personally on a 366 mHz G3). Slow, but usable. I have not tried it with Virtual PC interfaced to my GPS, I think it would be pushing it unless you had a pretty quick machine. Nice to see another Mac out there illegitimus nil carborundum
  5. I second Olar's $0.02. S&T 2002 is my most often used application for geocache mapping. I would recommend it without hesitation. I have, however, heard/seen a number of issues with 2003 which make it sound like a downgrade. Something you might want to consider when making a purchase decision. 6. Spent the day in Saint John, NB and managed to fill two large bags and a good portion of the box of my truck (at only three caches). I'd like to say we made a dent but unfortunately we needed a much bigger truck! Oh well, it was a good lesson for the six year old. By the way, when did they stop making stubby beer bottles? Some of this stuff nmust have been there for years! illegitimus nil carborundum
  7. Many thanks to PDOP's. Based on this tip, and a previous post regarding discount copies of Fugawi, I appear to be in your debt (A LOT)! As a displaced flatlander myself, let me know if the East Coast can ever do you a favour! illegitimus nil carborundum
  8. None of the Canadian vendors have updated their sites to include the shirts/bags. Can us canucks order direct from Groundspeak or do we need to wait for our local shops? Cheers... illegitimus nil carborundum
  9. Hey peetz, which coast are you actually on? Aren't you in Moncton? illegitimus nil carborundum
  10. He needs to move soon. When I placed him a month ago, there was a fair amount of snow and I was comfortable with his concealment. Given the recent rain, and lack of snow, I have a recurring nightmare of Bernie lying visible in an open field! If he's still there next weekend, I'll relocate him.
  11. If you have the time to run out Port Elgin way, I would highly recommend 'Bernie, the travelling geocache'... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=8569 If you're interested, but don't have the time to go get it, let me know - I could relocate it closer to town. It would be nice to get him moving again, and he doesn't seem to have attracted any attention from the island.
  12. I came across a TB the other day with a goal along the same lines as this discussion. Check out http://www.geocaching.com/track/track_detail.asp?ID=13641 Cheers...Cache Test Dummy
  13. Ok - after a particularly foul February - Bernie has ventured forth yet again. Regrettably, I had to rethink smuggling him into my luggage during a recent business trip to Newfoundland (just couldn't envision the positive dialogue when a large olive drab ammo can showed up on the Xray). He was starting to go shack-whacky, so we sent him on his way with rough directions for PEI. Good luck Bernie. More info on Bernie... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=8569
  14. Bumped into Bernie the other day and we really hit it off. He's hanging out with the family for a few days before a promised trip to yet another exotic (read snow covered) maritime destination. We're not sure if he's heading towards PEI or Newfoundland yet, but it will be one of the two. Stay tuned - he could be coming soon to a neighbourhood near you...
  15. About 20 min N of me - I'll try and get you a pic today.
  16. Well, in the continuing tradition of "better late than never", I noticed that geoquilt representation from Prince Edward Island is still lacking. I realize that the project is drawing to a close, but if there is still interest in having a local cache in PEI, I will accept responsibility for placing and maintaining it. What sayest thou?
