  1. If I change my geocaching name (my "handle") does it automatically change in all my online past logs?
  2. I'm trying to help a newbie cacher with her iPhone free app from the geocaching.com website. It's not loading her finds onto the site/attaching them to her profile. It just simply lets her click "found it" and that's it. Does she HAVE to pay for the iPhone app to be able to log like I can with the C:Geo app on the android?
  3. I cached in NYC last year when I was there. It's HARD because there are so many people EVERYWHERE and I felt like I was being watched. I had to log a few DNF's because of the muggles around. Good to have a good long list so that you can do others around, while you're waiting for the muggles to leave! I could have just sworn that I was going to get arrested by the Homeland security police for looking like a terrorist! HA! But I wasn't. It was fine. I found a fun one at Bryant Park that I thought was rather hard...I had to email the last finder to get a hint. It's called Brit in the Park; GC3N8BT. Another one I loved because of the cool architecture you get to look at is "Faces on the Wall"; GC1Z0MZ. I'm sure there are WAY more cool caches than what I found. I looked for one in Washington Park for a LONG time and couldn't find. Happy Hunting!!!
  4. The same thing happened to me the other day and I'm in TX, so no snow. I think either the app or the site is being glitchy. I did notice that the next day it was back! Wierd!
  5. Thanks all for the suggestions. I now at least know where to start my search. That explorist sounds great. I'm using just my Android now and I will only be using the handheld gps unit for geocaching. I like the color display and maps and tips idea but I can always use my phone for that stuff. Thanks all!
  6. Thanks...I'd like to stay below $200 but would prefer the $100-$120 range.
  7. I am now to the point where I would like to buy a handheld but have no clue which one to buy. What features should I be looking for in a handheld? Which one is best to get?
  8. Oh and of course...I figured it out RIGHT AFTER I posted this. Please disregard!!!
  9. Still a newbie....I picked up a travel bug and dropped it in another cache. I logged that I HAD the bug, so it's "in the hands" of me now. HOW do I drop off the bug in the cache that I put it in on the geocaching site? I've looked and looked and can't find the right button to click to put it into that new cache's inventory! Help!
  10. Yah...this is what I was thinking. I don't think there is a way to do it from the mobile device. Thanks for the advice.

    Events

So there's no list anywhere? I know what the bubble looks like, but was wondering why my "filter" is not working to just pull up events. Weird. Thanks!

    Pictures

Newbie here...how do you upload a pict from your Android phone to the log, when you log your visit. I see others doing this. I am using the c:geo Android app.

    Events

Where do you go to look for events in your area? I live in Austin, TX and tried to search for just event on the Android app and the filter is not working. Is there a place I can go to view just events? I'm looking for a newbie event - a get together of newbies so that we can learn the geocaching ways.

I keep seeing people using this acronym but I can't find what this stands for?
