  1. That's about as lame idea as one could get. Why would we want to talk in a forum where it might take days to get stomped on when we can have it done in 15 seconds in live chat? If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  2. Or just use USAPhotomaps instead. If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  3. That would be a wicked cool idea. A common place where we could talk in real time. I wonder if anyone will ever make one? If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  4. I thought locationless submissions were temporarily suspended? It's amazing a cache like this could be approved when a simililar cache design mentioned briefly at the beginning of this thread was denied. Interesting log, Brian. If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  5. Don't foprget the one where that guy tried to submit a locationless whose goal was to find a tupperware or ammo box in the woods filled with McToys. Where do we get these people? If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  6. quote:The Michigan Geocaching Org. (MiGO) already has a chat, and its on the same server as the one Mopar set up. Join channel #MiGO Ya, but isn't that the one umc hangs out in? It's a tough call, but I think I'll try Mopar's chat room. If I could find the link. If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  7. Wow, the antenna portion of that setup looks exactly like the one lapaglia and I picked up to make our own setups. I'm still waiting for warmer weather to do some more testing on mine, but they are a nice addition to have when needed. price to do it yourself is much less than $100, take a peek at our pages: Lapaglia's reradiating antenna page brdad's reradiating antenna page If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  8. You might want to try using Watcher on your Pocket Queries. You can have any sorting or filtering abilities to a GPX that you would ever want, including caches within a coordinate rectangle (or portion of a rectangle!). It might also solve or help you with your 5+ Pocket Query dilemma. To get Watcher, go to http://www.clayjar.com/gc/temp/, or ask about it in the #Geocache chat room. 9. The "Purely this poll was designed by someone with a motive" part was meant to be a crack at typical polls in the liberal media, but I retracted most of the comment and forgot to put the smiley back in. I am sure no ill-intentions were there when the post was made, but it is still skewed. It would have been better to have something like: 1. Logbooks should be mandatory in ALL caches (excluding virtuals). 2. Logbooks should be mandatory in TRADITIONAL caches only. 3. Logbooks should be mandatory in MICRO caches only. 4. Logbooks should not be mandatory in ANY CACHE. If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  10. In my opinion, this is a severely skewed poll. There is one option for "logbook should be required", yet, two for "logbook should be optional" If "Logbook should be required" were split beteeen micros and and all, I think the votes would even out a lot. Purely this poll was designed by someone with a motive. I think all caches should have some form of VERIFICATION. It does not have to be a logbook by any means, though I would think that would be the most obvious and easiest. Geocaching is fun when there are few rules and a the cache hider can make his cache any way he desires within the confines of legality and safety. If he wants to verify with a photo or email, who cares? We don't need no rule telling us we need a logbook! If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  11. Are you saying some cachers in your area number their logs in the log book? Don't think I have never seen it in my area. I for one don't really care if I am #2 or number #200 to log a cache. If I noticed others were doing it at a particular cache, I probably would too, but other than that, not a big deal for me. If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  12. There's an even easier way if you need a quick fix. I just wrap aluminum foil around the antenna, shiny side out (that way it can still receive signals, just not transmit them). Try to make it as smooth as possible, tape it on if needed. If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  13. I'd be tempted to email them and nicely ask if they intended to ask for the cache to be archived. If so, fine, but otherwise they may want to edit their log and change it to a find so it adds to their total find list. The log looks too much like a conventional find log to think they wanted it archived. If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  14. I think requesting it be archived soley for the reason of the coords being 30 feet off is a little extreme. By the looks of the log with the request to be archived, I am wondering if the cacher didn't just press the wrong button. However, if many visitors get similar coords, you might consider editing the cache page coords to reflect those numbers. It is expected for coords to be off often, but a cache hider should do all he can to ensure posted coords are as accurate as they can be. It also helps to go back to the cache with your GPS as if you were looking for it, and see where you end up. If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  15. I just use my GPS! Just make sure you change the format and datum to the correct units, make my UTM waypoint, then change back to normal position and format, and waypoint now shows correct conversion. It worked flawlessly on this cache: Etna bog (GC3D79) by etna bog buckmasters 001 (3/2) Some people are like Slinkies . . . not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.
  16. I'm thinking I will start a geocaching chat room. I think it'd be nice to have a common place for us to all shoot the crap and talk about geocaching. And then I might pay someone to make a FAQ page for the Geocaching.com web site so that newbies can have a place to look up some guidelines about geocaching. Then I might see if I can fund some search pages for the forums for the newbies too. If I have any money left over, I might buy majicman's book. Not sure what I'll do with it unless it has pictures, but I can put it on my shelf and look important. 17. Êtes-vous pour vrai, ou êtes-vous un troll? Si c'est un emplacement international comme vous dites, je pense les langues peux être celui qui le propriétaire de la cachette voudrait qu'elle soit. 20. quote:Originally posted by VentureForth:What is Watcher? Watcher is ClayJar's great little PC program that lets you use your GPX files from Pocket Queries nearly to their full potential. With it you can view and print cache details, merge multiple GPX files into one, filter out types, sizes, directions, difficulties, and more; as well as search not only the cache details, but logs as well. you can also ignore caches, mark caches for an upcoming hunt, and find caches close to other caches or from a set location. And much more, and even more good stuff on the way! Watcher's main forum thread is here. You can get Watcher at it's current home at http://www.clayjar.com/gc/temp/. Yeah, it's neat, but not much of a challenge. However, there is a huge potential missed. Can you imagine knowing there is a mirco hidden _somewhere_ in/on/under that engine? How long do you think it would take to comb that whole thing? Sounds like this one: Old 470 (GCAE12) by brdad (2.5/1.5) (Link made by Watcher 0.1.31, available soon. 23. I think we need a diversity of caches like that. Check out my You Sank My Battleship! cache, which also can send a cacher around town through as little as 7 stages or as many as 26 depending on his/her game plan. So, maybe not everyone will do the cache. Buy those that like a change will like it all the more. 24. Ewww. Seems like the father had a kid with his cousin. So the Answer is obviously "C" since they live in West virginia and it's illegal to sue family there.
