  1. My Battleship cache has up to 25 initial stages, all virtual type leading to one physical cache. It can be done, and is easier to maintain. You Sank My Battleship! (GCB688) by brdad (4/2) Why does Sea World have a seafood restaurant? I'm halfway through my fish burger and I realize, Oh my God....I could be eating a slow learner.
  2. I number my Signature CD's and just track them best I can and put the info on my web page. Some people pick them up and let me know what I think and if they'll be placing it somewhere. Others take them and I never hear whether it was enjoyed or kept or what. And I give the option of they can keep it or move it on like a TB. So far 3 have made it out of state; MA, PA, and MT. The one in MT is the only one I am sure is in a cache. I think it'd be a waste of tracking resources to track a sig item that makes it to one cache and the next person finds it. And so many people take things and just log took something, left something, how would you know if it's still there? Why does Sea World have a seafood restaurant? I'm halfway through my fish burger and I realize, Oh my God....I could be eating a slow learner.
  3. Wow, that is cool. I'll have to check it out. I hope everyone doesn't pick on me in there, though. Why does Sea World have a seafood restaurant? I'm halfway through my fish burger and I realize, Oh my God....I could be eating a slow learner.
  4. Wasn't Canada always a big empty grey space? quote:Originally posted by Hard Oiler:Interesting - the rest of the world has now disappeared - Canada is now a big empty grey space. A result of SARS or BSE . Anyone know where the rest of the world has gone? Money doesn't grow on trees, but there is cache in the woods.
  5. quote:Originally posted by the hangman:Is it considered acceptable to take signature items (trade for them like you would any other item)? Or should they be left in the cache ? Definitely take them! I like the personalized signature items much better, and home made or even hand signed ones are a step above that. If you leave a greek coin in a cache as a signature item, how am I supposed to know it's your item, especially if I am from out of town and not familiar with local signature items. My sig item is a CD with pictures of my area, I think most people like it. Money doesn't grow on trees, but there is cache in the woods.
  6. quote:Originally posted by BrianSnat:...In New England, there are lobster rolls and in northern Maine there is a concoction called poutine... Ok now, you went a little too far on that one. Poutine comes from Canada, don't be crediting Maine with something of the likes of poutine! Obviously you got it from some transplants who crossed the border... Money doesn't grow on trees, but there is cache in the woods.

    $30,000?

Don't forget Jeremy's recent $15,000 binge in Las Vegas. And I bet you guys thought he's been quiet because he was working on a new site... On the road of life there are people in cars and people getting hit by cars.
  9. What good will a clear ammo box do after I'm done painting it camo and gluing sticks and rocks to it? I think we just need to call them something besides ammo boxes. After all, we are recycling them, aren't we? When your city recycles waste water, do they still call it waste water? Of course not! It's so ridiculous, people thinking just because it's an ammo box that it must be a bomb. Anyway, to me a recycled ammo box cleverly camoflauged is the way to go. If one could be made out of a plastic that could hold up to sub zero and very hot temps, then maybe I'd go for it. But I can't imagine you'd make a plastic one for $4-6. 10. I think I'm gonna look into having a secret compartment made on my tombstome. Maybe the letter "o" in my engraved name will pull out, revealing the cache. It'll be fun to watch cachers crawling on their hands and knees above me looking for a film canister. On the road of life there are people in cars and people getting hit by cars.
  11. I knew there was something about her that caught my eye! Ok, maybe it wasn't this, but nice to see we have a geocacher or two over there! I wonder just how many... On the road of life there are people in cars and people getting hit by cars.
  12. What about a cross between umc and a mopar? I'm not sure what it'd be, but either way, it's bound to still be full of doot... On the road of life there are people in cars and people getting hit by cars.
  13. I second that motion! On the road of life there are people in cars and people getting hit by cars.
  14. I just hide mine so even cachers can't find them, not a one has been stolen yet. On the road of life there are people in cars and people getting hit by cars.
  15. Why not give let us know what you know about this person/cemetery, and there might be a local cacher who will consider it a challenge and find the place and get the coords for you? quote:Originally posted by SE7EN:I've come to a dead end with a relative from the early 1800's who is buried in a cemetery almost a 1000 miles away. The road it's on has grown up, the street sign has fallen down, and the lister pretty much says that unless you know exaclty where it is, you'd never find it. I've tried several times to contact this person, but each of his email addresses bounce. On the road of life there are people in cars and people getting hit by cars.
  16. Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't a topic like this belong somewhere other than a geocaching forum? And you are right, this has been discussed before. On the road of life there are people in cars and people getting hit by cars.
  17. quote:Originally posted by JohnnyDingo:This is directed to BRDAD, IRT PD0709. A comment on "Is this a find." If you read the description of the benchmark closely, you will see that the benchmark is actually the "FINIAL" atop the lighthouse. I have seen benchmarks which were lights atop towers, etc. As long as you can see what is specified as the benchmark, you can log it as found. They are not all, inscribed brass discs. Ya, I know, it was just my decision. If I could barely see a disk 50 feet on the other side of a gate, I would not log it as a find either. Just my interpretation of a find. If I could have gotten to within say, 100 feet of that lighthouse I would havbe been more likely to log it as a find; I was just not satisfied with how close I had gotten to it. 18. Many of the items like the ones listed under the avatar for user profile and such, cannot be opened in a new tab or window, that kind of sucks for me. The rest will take some getting used to, but it does seem faster which is nice. If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  19. Stop looking, I found it. It's the little globe icon between where it says "Geocaching Home" and "Groundspeak Forums". Whoda thunk it... If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  20. Can anyone find the "New messages since your last visit" link? It used to be on the top right corner. If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  21. I'd like to complain about a happy frickin reunion going on here in the complaint forum. This is no place for that kind of behavior. So I'd like to complain about Rubbertoe as well, since he is instilling the happiness here. All the other topics, and you guys have to choose the compaint dept.. Geeez... If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  22. And someone made a post here not long ago saying S/A probably wooule not be turned on since they now have the ability to selectively block areas from getting any valid signal, so who knows what is going to happen. Anyway, no need to worry, we just widen out the search circle! If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
  23. Of course prices will fluctuate in times like this, but look at thwat they pay in may other countries. We do quite well. And other factors may make it go back down a little, like this. If carrots are so good for the eyes, how come I see so many dead rabbits on the highway?
