  1. Most definately...It went online just after this and the other post... Thanks for the reponse Dave...
  2. My travel bug H20 Bug has been placed into a cache "The Fort at the Pond" that doesn't seem to exist... I have a feeling that maybe the cache has not been approved yet???
  3. Just saw this in the thread...Has anyone retrieved this one yet? If not we make many trips out there each year...let me know if you need help.
  4. Boy Dru...I hope you think of us while you are sitting on that beach...
  5. Dru you dog... I knew we should have run those red lights... And by 10 seconds...argh... Congratulations to you and your lucky family! Hey I haven't seen any posts by you...Could you have gone for two???
  6. I am spending more of my time at: Southern California Geocachers... "Now it's time to say goodbye to our old OC Thread: SCG...Gee it's been fun...EOC...Come see how great it is!...ACHER(S)...Our So. Cal. site is really the best! SCGeocachers...SCGeocachers... Forever let us hold our handhelds high!" OK enough of that...See ya later...Happy Geocaching!
  7. Hopefully the last time
  8. Keep on checking back...But do not forget to check out the new website: Sothern California Geocachers Thanks to all who have kept this thread alive! [This message was edited by The Geo Chasers on March 17, 2003 at 03:22 PM.]
  9. Woo hoo! Another great find and adventure! (And not to mention...another $1000.00 richer!) You are becoming local X-treme heroes! Keep us posted on your adventure!
  10. Too many things...Not enough time... I have a hard time checking both sites...
  11. (We lived in Huntington for many, many years) The picnic area that is reservable is off of Edwards. It is very nice for a large group such as this. This is the only large area that is equipped with tables and BBQ's. There are other single tables that may have BBQ's near them in the grassy area, but usually the most tables available are two to three. These are first come first serve. If someone Local to the park was willing, they could find a location with several tables with BBQ, additional tables and chairs could be brought by attendees. Just a thought. Lake Park is pretty nice. It is just above the Main Street area...However it is very public and close to the streets. Hope you all can find a place...I just wish we could go!
  12. Picnic...My son has his first high school track meet that Saturday. We will not be able to attend this one. Looks like there is going to be a great turnout...We will look forward to the next opportunity!
  13. What a great adventure! Glad to see someone local tackled this one!
  14. Parsa: Great Idea...I know of a couple here in South OC...If we are lucky...we might get to post them before Husqui... Lars: BTW...I do not think I e-mailed you with a response...Yes you are right...The green posts...well...thats a long story. I am really thinking about taking that cache offline and changing it (or making it the way it should have been originally). I am going to email Admin. regarding the changes before we do anything.
  15. We voted for #18 as well...California gold mining, very simple. When you think of California overall, you think of the gold rush. I thought #1 (John Muir at Yosemite in the Sierra Nevada)was a great scene, but not a good representation of the state as a whole. Can't wait to see which one will win!
  16. Uh...Honey...I found it down here...you can come down off that cliff now... Yeah...I know that I said it was probably up there...but uh...its not...see.
  17. Dang...Your'e right...I can see far...Those binocular thingies really do work!
  18. Fullon: My son is working on a logo for us...Maybe I will have him work on one for the site as well. Lars: Ah...The old Zigurat Building...Didn't that used to be/or now is some kind of Government facility? What happened when security approached you? (This is something I would like to be prepared for...Not that it may help but...I always carry the geocaching description as well as the cache page with me when out) When we were out the other night looking for the "Centauri Escape Pod Echo" it was located in the Cox cable parking lot, the lot was empty. We drove right near the location of the cache and proceeded to look. I was looking around the lot and noticed that there were cameras above. I am extremely surprised that we did not get approched, obviously no one was watching. Cache ya later!
  19. There is no way I will show up down there. Finds are not that important to us. It is just sad that our country is on such high alert. Because of this I have often wondered when geocaching, how many people really do see you wandering around looking for a cache. You have to admit, it would look just a tad suspicious. BTW...The second post by "Alpinemaps" was severely edited since this AM. Cache On!
  20. I have been watching this cache Old Man for a several days and was considering going south to find but the rain kept me away. (Now I am not so sure I want to find) Seems there is now some controversy on where the cache is located. Check it out and let me know what your thoughts are... Happy Geocaching...If it's not raining that is...
