My ON/OFF button on my Garmin 60CSX is recessed, warn out and makes turning on/off the GPS very difficult. Has anyone had the button replaced or similar problems?
-
I have a garmin nuvi 205w that I used to use for caching. Now I have a hand held and would like to delete all of my old caches. I tried reseting it and that didn't even work. I would love any advice for my gps!
I use "POI Loader" to add or remove caches from my Nuvi 205W. Just google it and download it. But, then again how did you get them on your Nuvi? GSAK, POI or another program?

Thanks Barrie for tellin' me the new card was out.
We were out most of the day and stopped by on our way home.
Picked up a pair for TheHikingMonk's family (THM, TIM, SNF, MM, MD, TI, TSP, SB, and baby...can't remember his name right now) to share.
Got a set for Boysnbarrie (who was busy packing for a trip) and one to mail to kwver's since they're out of town for awhile.
AWESOME JOB on the design layout, etc.
We are sooooo happy that Sue and Pat have their own Yrium card!!! We just love both of them! Can't wait to get home and get re-acquainted..thanks Linda for grabbing us a set...we miss everybody and hope to return sometime in December

My favorite log of the week....
October 12 by Ol' Mossback (1683 found)
I gotta get the hang of this night caching thing. I walked splat-dead-center into a huge pile of dog crap near the cache. You can probably still see where I slip'n'slided in the dark, grasping for branches and anything above ground to prevent my gravitation towards the odoriferous landmine. I managed to avoid the whiffy wad until I found the cache, then I happened to daftly march right into it a second time!!! That's right....#2!!Aaaaarrghghgh!! I was convinced I was on funniest home videos at this point. I signed a close second-place behind my favorite lithuanian submarine skipper and kissed this place goodbye!!. Thanks again for throwin some caches down in the hood TC!!

Gee, thanks for honoring the 5,000th find for SD Rowdies.
Yes, our milestone find was at the south end of the coliseum
in Rome on the first day of our Italian adventure. An urban
micro but claimed to be the most popular Geocache in Italy.
Seemed like an appropriate milestone find.
Was hard to find time for Geocaching but did score five finds
and, I'm proud to say, posted one DNF. Finds were in Rome,
Florence, Cortina, Venice and also in Lugano, Switzerland.
In Florence the hide was beside the basilica where the remains
of Leonardo De Vinci and Michaelangelo are said to lie. Hard
to know for sure because the ancient Italians liked to divvy-up
bones so's several basilicas could claim a little piece of saints
and notables. For example, several basilicas displayed a piece
of the actual and renowned crown-of-thorns but, lucky us, St.
Peters had the entire crown-of-thorns on display. Go figure.
Lugano was the toughest find because I had limited time and
had to climb 182-steps of a stairway up to the top of a steep
hill, then walk a good while to get around a fenced railroad
right-of-way, and finally hike back along the other side of
the railway and up into a park for the score. The cache listing
was written in Deustch and Italiano of course and the Italiano
hint was "Nel tronco." The final challenge was to relocate
Sandy as she walked through the shops and streets of Lugano.
Wound up sweaty and weak-kneed but walked right into Sandy
by chance in the town square. Line of sight distance to the cache
was only 0.13 mile but y'all know how it can be with boots on the
ground.
So close yet so far!
One highlight of our trip was a night-time approach to the top of
the Spanish Steps in Rome ... having to plow our way through
four city blocks thronged with a huge animal-rights march with
police helicopters above and squads of police along our way. We
made it to the Spanish Steps but, technically, we didn't really
see them because they were completely covered, top to bottom,
with a huge crowd of revelers mixed with the throng of animal-
rights marchers. Being part of the largest gathering ever at
Spanish Steps was a bonus. ... nope, didn't get my pocket
picked thank y' very much.
Thanks pals,
Harmon & Sandy

Note to Self: It's nice to be noticed.
Very nice Harmon! More pictures please.

Chief Charlie’s last day of work was September 30, 2010. He spent his career aboard submarines with the U.S. Navy and at several Department of Energy sites. With more than 6,000 finds, Chief Charlie and Happy Feat are enthusiastic about not having work get in the way of what is truly important - Geocaching.
Thank you for your service Chief!

Mrs Map never gets excited about the actual "cache" itself part!! But she has enjoyed meeting all the great people associated with caching and the events we go to. Also, She never backs out of a great hike to get to a cache thats on my radar. Good luck!

Well of course I am partial to my own caches in the area Full Moon over Mono Lake or any of my Bodie area caches. I would also recommend the Earthcaches at Mono Lake or Travertine Hot Springs as well as the Mammoth Lakes area.
Exploring Bodie works for me. Fun place!

Thanks! That sounds really cool! How long/difficult a hike is it?
Thanks. We could stay around there and head to San Simeon early in the morning. Do you remember any particular cache names? My wife and I are headed up to Santa Cruz in a few months. We are going to take the 101 to San Luis Obispo and veer off on the 1 to San Simeon.
Not right on your route but well worth the side loop from San Luis to Los Osos. There are some great caches in Los Osos and it is a lovely area besides. Then from Los Osos you get right back on Highway 1 near Morro Bay.
If you are looking for some awesome hiking with no caches try parking at Hearst Park near GC240JA (On a Mission). Hike along the beach North, then up along the ridge (fence line) and pick up the trail heading out to the point. The Trail meanders North along some great beaches that are secluded. It's not a official hike but my bro lives in Los Osos and gave us the scoop. We have hiked it about 4 times and enjoy it. Just a thought!
The hike itself is flat and easy and you can go as far north as you need to. We usually go out for an hour or 2 then relax on a beach we hike to. Usually some cows are roaming around. Some awesome views on the point. Park on the street so you don't have to pay for parking.

Look who's got a new Yeep!!! Hmmmmm.... Lemme see.... Since its almost exactly like the Blue October, maybe call it the Black April (99)?!? Its a '99 Sport 4L just like mine, with almost the same features and all the cool stuff!!! Now lulu's even cooler than ever!!!
YIPPEE..............LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are now on our Jeepin' list. can't wait for the first run!
Congratulations Nancy.............
The Splashes
Thank you!! I'm soooo excited and still in shock!! My husband completely surprised me – he and Collin came home from "running errands" with a Jeep and said "happy birthday!" Oh my gosh…I can't believe it!! Then I thought, uh oh…how does he know what I'd like??? I've mentioned a few things, but then I found out he's been talking to some key people: the Splashes, one of his non-caching Jeeping friends, and Tom. Oh…THAT's why it's so much like the Blue October!! No complaints here!! I LOVE it!! Yay!!! I still can't believe it!! Looking forward to that first time out, Janie!! I hope it's more of a "green circle" than a "black diamond" trail to start with. Did I say that I still can't believe it???
All I can say is WoW.....you have a pretty nice husband and little son! I was suppose to get a treadmill for my birthday and I'm still waiting. Congrats! I know lots of JEEPers that will show you the ropes...you'll be in good hands! Have fun Nancy!
MMM..... Toss up between a jeep and treadmill

Looking at the card with me on the motorcycle, I cannot spot anything that remotely reveals that this has been photoshopped. It just looks so real!
The pink ears give it away...
Let me rephrase that. The one with me standing next to my motorcycle and Thunder sitting next to me looks so real.
Just for fun, a comparison ...
This was the main source image.
And this is the final Yrium-card layout. What changes do you see?
Source images used ...
Most any reality is possible with Photoshop CS5.
That is just simply amazing, Harmon!
Randy,
With your near-death experience last year I knew that I
had to produce a good result. Working with concepts that
Devhead offered and with Tom in the usual way put the
effort in the win-column. The result has received terrific
reviews because you're so special to all that know you.
Don't forget ... keep on ticking!

Just take one or two cards, total, per visit...
Had to make two trips to get all three cards but it was worth it...
The Misprinter outdid himself (herself?) with the Operation card. That will be a classic to stand alongside the infamous Wonderwoman misprint!
Credit for that concept goes to Devhead.
Hurried over after work about 4pm and was very happy to be able to nab the whole set. I really have to say that this is one of my favorites. The detail is AMAZING! Harmon you do good work! Steve: Great ideas!
Excellent work!!! Picked up 2 set yesterday! One for me and one for a cache!

Yesterday, I was going from Is This a Sumac? #3 (GC24TVV) to Here a Quarry, There a Quarry... (GC24TVZ) in the Sycamore canyon area and spotted this. It hissed at me and then rattled just a bit. It may be the biggest Western Diamondback I've ever seen....
Can you get a little closer next time John!!
-
This just in ...
Honk if you can describe what dramatic event took place at this location.
Froggy sex?
Absolutely! But wait, there's more to the story.
One difficult find for me!
