Tell me about your first cache? march on the henrys fork of the snake river (henrys first cache) snow on the paved trail I didnt have any trade goods but i had a gold dollar!!! my wife thought i was nuts! 3. Have you had any bad/scary experiences caching? Slick Stash let me tellya if you are scared in tight dark ICEE spaces this isnt for you!!! luckly firebird 75 was with me and talked me thru kinds scary when you lay on a sheet of ice and put your fee on the ceiling and push you way thru!! 4. What is the #1 reason you geocache? OUTDOOR ACTIVITY!!! 5. Do you prefer to hunt or hide? Both, I LOVE TO HIDE BUT I DONT DO LSC (lamp skirt cache) OR GRC (guard Rail cache), i have 1 MICRO hide most of mine take some skill with a gps, no park and grabs from me!!! 6. What was your favorite cache place? Why? look at my finds 7. What was your worst cache? Why? a micro hidden in a pinetree in a park full of pine trees 8. Have you ever attened a cache event? NO 9. Tell me your best caching story? I went with firebird75 in after deep dark cache. we both left with scrapes bruises and sore backs and still never found the cache!! Infuriating!!! i had seen the cache box a year and a half previous to that but had not started caching yet!! still havenot found it since!!

My run in wasnt while finding a cache it was while scouting a placement sight!! I'm an avid hunter and love to glass! I was off for a day and decide to hike the 6 miles to a placement site I had been to on my atv a year previous. I wanted to hike it for the sake of those who would be hiking it! I filled my hydration pack put on my day pack and started hiking It was 8:30 Am there is a blm park/campground/rec area that I was using for the parking area! It is frequented by many of the college students and some local high school students at night !!! I had ploted a course of least resistance and headed out! about 2 miles out I stopped to get a drink and heard a noise and looked back and could see 2 people running and playing in the warm sand. I didnt think anything of it! I proceded to continue hiking 4 miles later and 1800 vertical feet up. When I got to the summit and found the benchmarks that had eluded me the previous time! I then got out my spotting scope (hunter love to look for game) and started glassing my back trail. low and behold on the north side of a dune i could se a small patch of red about 2.5 miles back!! HHHHMMMM i think, lets crank this thing up, let me tell you at 40X at 2.5 miles I could still make out the tattoo on her back with ease.... nice blonde...... I leave my scope and proceed to take some general readings for the multi I plan to place! after 40 min or so i go back to get my scope and get ready to leave. I look and all i can say is MARATHON MAN!!!!! Its gettin hot n i still got 6 miles of hiking so i pack my stuff and go!! about a mile back I stop on a small rise and glass to check on the unsuspecting. Shes still there but hhhhmmmm the guy looks diffrent??? I keep hiking I dont care if they see me!! I get with in about 400 yards and he gets up and leaves, she yells at me "you want a turn?" I mumbled something I dont rember what . She says to me" i know you have been watching me, do you like what you have seen?" lets just say i was speechless and just kept on hiking!! I got home and realized I had left my tablet with my notes when I picked up my scope!!........I wonder if she will be there again????

mine is old school!!!! 55 (first year made) CJ-5 converted to 12v and has a 235 chev in line 6 in it!!! It will climb a tree if you hang on, But you better take a lunch with ya!! this was parade duty to advertise my sporting goods store!!!!!!

Just a simple question. Ive seen a few caches that have a FTF prize in em!! the last one i missed by 15 min but it had a 15 dollar gift certificate to a local store!! ISNT THAT AGAINST GC regs?? or is that just another trade item?? let me know your opinons!! THANKS

I have a multi that requires you get some information off of an OLD well head,well most people done pay attention to the formula that is SIMPLY stated (4th maybe 5thgrade level)on the page. i repeatedly get logs and emails from people who threaten and acuse me of lieing, simply because they dont SLOW DOWN AND READ THE PAGE!!! OH AND IF THE PAGE SAYS TO TAKE A PENCIL AND SCRATCH PAD TO DO THE MATH DO IT!! i had on guy lg it a a dnf "because i cant do the math in my head its not worth it!!"

I learned about it thru a freind that i had ridden atv's n snowmobiles with!! i logged on and joined then after i found a few we started to cache together!! (both of us have been in the same cave multiple times and still havent managed to find that one)!! its gotten addicting to both of us!!

It all depends on what im in at the time!! WAS RAISE WITH A GUN SINCE I WAS 8!!!! If im in the pickup there ia AT LEAST 1 pistol a rifle and a shot gun at all times!!! IF im on my ATV checking caches there is AT LEAST a pistol with me!! Having opened a new Sporting goods store I have applied for a CC permit and plan on using it!!! ITS BETTER TO HAVE IT AND NOT NEED IT THEN NEED IT AND NOT HAVE IT!! If you outlaw guns, only the outlaws will have guns!! And remember a lock only keeps the honest people honest!

I have used mine for a lot of benchmarking!! and a few of the better caches in the area!! Acouple of us are hoping to set a few caches that requirea a lengthy hike or an atv ride!! I HATE PARK AND GRABS!!!

Top con has it right if you want to look at some real #5's search the physco caches AND READ THE DISCLAMER AND DISCRIPTION!!!!!!!! those guys understand what an extreme cache is!!!

I got a battery less flashlight (the kind you shake) to put in my pack for those annoying CAVE caches we have around here!!! nothing worse then getting part way thru a cave n haven the light die!!!

I've been cacheing for a while now first just with a buddy then i finally got my own account!! ive been lurking but am starting to add my 2 cents ever now and again!!! caching isn't that popular around my area!! Im hoping to change that!!!

Ok ive been scaning maps and thinking and i have even been out for some good old fashioned recon work!(good excuse to go 4wheelen) but i want some advice before i go and place this one in the spring!! IF you like park and grab micros dont even bother!!! it would be a 4 to 5 mile staight line hike (one way) over some world famous sand dunesto a local butte add a mile more if you want to take the easy trail!! or a decent atv ride on public trial, you climb 1200 to 1500 feet in alt on the last butte!! there ia a triangulation station near so you could get a benchmark too (yes i benchmark too)!! would it be worth it? Im just wondering!! Let me know!!!

on the first multi i hid (captive desert rain) you need the dates from an old well head at the first set of coords then you have to do the math from there!!! You have to take the print out with you so you have the formula!!!

As a rule of thumb me and many local cachers hav decided trade equal or up meaning leave something of equal or greater value or dont trade!! nothing makes me madder then knowing that a nice object is in a new placed cache and taking time to find it just to get there and find that i was not the FTF!! Then rummage thru the box and find that the only thing gone is the 20.dollar item and it has been replace witha bag of fake dog POOP!!!(can you tell im still alittle pevved)

Being from Idaho too, i wondered this same thing (i started caching witha buddy and didnt have an accnt for the first year or so) but then after a few weeks of sitting on the couch on weekends that was it!! get in the truck im going to see how stuck i can get!! ive gone as far as i can in the truck then unloaded my snow mobile and ridden to many REMOTE caches!! It gives me a reason to ride!! This year i bought a set of very nice 10x58 snow shoes and plan on going after a few of the more rural caches that a snowmobile would be over kill on!! the local town(15 miles from me) is putting in a X-country ski trail system im thinking of stashin a few caches in its general area!!! maybe that will give a few more people a reason to put down the X-mas candy and go outside and enjoy nature!! That is why we do this isnt it!! OH yeah and for the bragging rights of a FTF!!!

When you go to place a cache do you just go and place it or do you scout around for a while and make a few trips before taking the container and actually placing the cache? I like to take and scout for a while! Alot of the places I have thought about placing caches are places I have been to before! I will then go back to the place and scout around for a good place to stash it and take multiple readings for my coords!! Then at a later date go back later and place the cache! Does anyone else do things this way?

Hey guys im looking fo some garmin stuff! i have a garmin GPS 12, yeah i know its old and a little outdated but it worksfor me. im looking for a car cord for it so i can slow down on batteries and i would also like a PC cord too!! if any one has one let me know thanks!!

hummmm a trekkee amoung us i see!!! HHHHHHHUUUUUUUUMMMM!!!!! boy this would be nice if i wasnt 3000 miles away!!!! and for those of us on the main land the messages on the hawaii bulletin board are either in hawiian (native language) or some of em look to be either vulcan or romulan.(its been a while OK) if i knew more about tha surrounding area i might be able to help!!! hey edchen am I getting the least bit warm???

my first was a virtual!! my first, regular was HENRYS FIRST CACHE!!!! FIND 10 PLACE 1

a few weeks ago my wife and i went caching on a sunday after noon we went out after some thathad skunked us a week or two earlier! the first was a very nice experiance the cache had been undersnow all winter but i found it in good condition! the next one required a bit of a hike! so of we went we watched a herd of deer as we hiked to the cache site on the rim of the canyon! from the clues my wife (who thought caching was dumb till she went with me once) found the second cache! nice ammocan hidden in rocks and brush! this was suppose to be a postcard exchange cache! the last loged visit was from a freind of mine from back in november! i had chated with him he said there was a dozen or so cards!! upon opening the cache my wife stareds pulling ziplock bags out and handed me the one with the log!! I get to do the Writing while she decides what to take! next she set a bag next to me and asks what is that!! as i read the log book i found a log of a full page stating that the bag was full of human stool samples and used toilet paper and that the same person had taken everthing in the cache valued at more then $.50 including all the postcards ! trust me it did not go back in the cache!! i checked the computer later and no one else had logged since november!! i hate people who cant respect others!!

I hope some more cachers will use that 10 found 1 placed idea
