I would be up for some group caching but not the 3 or 4 hour hike ones.....I will be camping there Fri - Sun.

This has never worked for me either...I had used the same username sence day one but I use a different log in name and geocaching.com has always logged all my caches with both under the user name but dan's site puts them under one or the other. it's been driving me nuts and don't know how to fix it.

prior to 4.02 I had my Plat. personilzed with a program called MyMeridian from the Navicache site. One of the cool side affects is it gives you two geocaching icons with the upload. I am waitinf for Navicache to update them fimeware for 4.02 and I will do it again. www.navicache.com/freeware

The other one they sell is a swivel mount and is designed to be screwed to the dash. No suction cups on it.

I use a program called IrfanView. Saw it here on the message boards...just do a search for it. I usually just shoot the pic at high res. and load it in the program and with one click I reduce it in half and that usually cuts below the 100k.

Yah I tooooo really love night hunts.

I recently upgraded from the yellow etex to a Magellan Platinum and it is like night and day....I still use the both on hunts to compare and the plat just blows the etex away. It's almost no fun anymore..just walk right to the cache, even under heavy tree cover.

I just upgraded to a Meridian Platinum and did a screen personlization with the mymeridian program from navicache.com and found a neat feature from doing this. It changes the default icom to a cache box and ands a new one called got which is the cache box opened (for use after you find the cache). Just wanted to share this with you all...I think it is neat!!!

Well I was on the "patch".....antenna but I just got a quadhelix!!!!!

I know this has been beat to death but I can't find the link and instrictions on how to do this. I just bought the Platinum and want to add this to the start -up screen. thanks

Hey.....I say "GREAT 4 U!!!!!" sounded like a neat idea to me and I voted yes.

Palm has a new unit out called the Zire. about the sams as the m105 but with only 2 mb of memory. It's priced under $100 bucks. Might be anought for a few pages. I myself have the m125 which uses a SD card. I have a 64 mb card plugged in and have lots of cache pages stored along with 100 or so games.

Yes I am lucky. The wife really likes it and so do the kids (son 12, daughter 6) but the dog goes just nuts over it. We do other things on the same hunt day like start out at a dollar store or Wal-mart and get stuff for the hunt and stuff for each of us (dog included). Then we do the hunt and spend time in the area if there is other stuff to see or do. If it is hot we work swimming into the equation. If it is aways from the home coords we do the camping thing....life is great!!

I always take the gmrs/frs radios with me. One for the wife one for my son and I have one plus I carry a 2 mtr HT. (ham radio) and cell phone too. Comes in handy for those wide search areas. Plus my gmrs radio has a digital compass and noaa weather aleart.

Yea I agree....I've only been doing this for a couple of weeks and can't wait for the "next one". Never leave home without the gps and check for next closest waypoint as I drive anywhere. yea I'm addicted!!!!
