  1. sduck: many of the maps on that site are better than the 550t's built in maps; this is a raster map so its completely different than what is built in. You can download any of the maps and try them out.
  2. I'll be happy to take those screenshots and post them on that map's page as well.
  3. You can use garmin's map viewier to see what the map includes: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=1404#coverageTab From what I see it has bathymetric data but I don't know where to look for the buoys.
  4. I would reccomend the Garmin Dakota 20 because you can export your historical maps from google as Garmin Custom Maps. Should be at the low end of your budget. Also you can get some free maps from gpsfiledepot.com and if you'd like you could buy the routable maps from Garmin and that'll eat a little more of your budget but it'll still be in your price range. After that I'd probably go with the Delorme PN-40 for the imagery reason as well but I have no experience with that unit so I won't weigh in any further.
  5. the full version of the ibycus maps are hosted on gpsfiledepot...
  6. I have made a map for Arizona, I won't hotlink here but look at my signature.
  7. GPSFileDepot hosts the maps which is why you can still get them there and the links didn't die. For a few states you either have to download the entire ibycus map or download an individual state's topo map which includes the same or more up-to-date roads. See coggins message above.
  8. You may be able to find a replacement of the map you need: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com
  9. MtnHermit, I can give you ownership of the map and you can load the pc or mac version to gpsfiledepot.
  10. Topo 2008 (included on some Colorados) has DEM shading; these will show through the free maps. Some maps on gpsfiledepot have screenshots; others don't. The ones I myself produce have screenshots and ones that I've touched to make installers or whatnot. Autorouting I can do nothing about; way too expensive to get cgpsmapper for autorouting.
  11. I found a copy on my computer that I had downloaded. I've made up a tools page for it now: Garmin Map ID Finder Download
  12. Some maps of that quality are available for free: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com
  13. Put it in a bag of rice... I did that for my wife's ipod and it cam eback to life. The rice soaked up all of the extra moisture. I know you say its dry but it can't hurt to try. Maybe put it in the rice now and make sure its all good?
  14. if anyone has it (non-mac version) I will take it and put it on my server since ibycus.com is down. I have the US version.
  15. Mine got drowned before and I didn't have a problem. Its odd that yours didn't work. Mine stayed in a few inches of flowing water for a few minutes with no issues. Also put it in the sink for a little while with no issues.
  16. not 100% sure of the question but: how to load img files into mapsource or Create a setup file for your map to load into mapsource
  17. If anyone knows where some good lake water type data is I could probably start making a map. And Red90... obviously everyone lives in America; you don't exist :-D
  18. I have a refurbished (US) unit that works great... so I wouldn't fret about that too much.
  19. Add the two gb card to that above and then download the plethora of free maps (see sig). The nuvi would have been no good for geocaching; that version is not meant to be an outdoor GPS.
  20. This is the best you'll get for free: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/28/
  21. There are plenty of free maps available too for Garmin GPS's (see sig). I love my 60csx but also am recommending the vista hcx to people who want to save money.
  22. Are you using a recent enough version of MapSource?
  23. Did you install enough of the Ibycus maps. Also, make sure you're zoomed in far enough.
