  1. For those that wanted these at a lower price, they are on sale at the moment in the Geocaching store: http://shop.geocaching.com/default/special-edition-flying-eagle-hinged-geocoin.html
  2. The silver and gold came in the mail today. I finally completed my set of Gear geocoins.
  3. These are currently available through the geocaching store: http://shop.geocaching.com/default/trackable-items/geocoins/special-edition-flying-eagle-hinged-geocoin.html
  4. What number range is on the 2002 version please? I have one but I'm unsure what minting it is. I don't know the exact numbering between them, but the easiest way to tell is if you have the Certificate that came with it. The 2002 will say Inaugural 2002 on the Certificate. My 2002 is #252 and my 2006 is #1313. I belive only 500 were minted in 2002, but I am not 100% sure of that. Here is a picture of my 2002 (left - with certificate) next to my 2006(right).
  5. i would love to know when these were minted. RedShoesGirl, These Greenman geocoins were minted in 2002(Inaugural mint) and then again in 2006. Most of the Greenmans I've seen go up for sale are the 2006 coins. I actually purchased one back in 2002 and have one of the Inaugural versions and I recently purchased a 2006 version which looks identical but has a much higher coin number. I'm not sure if one is coveted more than the other, but I rarely see a 2002 go up for sale.
  6. My recent additions this past week: More on the way.
  7. My tiny collection. Hoping to start expanding this very soon.
  8. Does anyone have a polished silver/gold Mammut geocoin for trade (preferibly within the U.S)? I only want the polished silver/gold version. I would like to trade my unactivated Flying-Eagle geocoin for one of these. Please email me if you are interested in a trade.
  9. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I appreciate your honesty. I realize the price seems a little high, but this is made up of 3 coins (1 body and 2 wings), so I had to pay for three coins for each eagle coin I had minted. Each coin has hinging which costs extra so that also is multiplied by 3 for each coin plus assembly. Maybe doing a 3-piece coin was a little too much as my first coin. Lesson learned.
  10. I will sell these through the forums for $24.95/ea USD plus shipping/handling. In the U.S. I will ship via USPS First Class Mail (insurance, tracking, and delivery confirmation included) for $4.15. Add $1.00 for each additional coin. Depending on quantity, these will ship in bubble-mailer envelopes. For quanties of 3 or more, I will ship via USPS Small Flat Rate Box for $5.20 plus insurance fee. For Mexico and Canada, I will ship via USPS Small Flat Rate Box for $11.95 plus insurance fee. For International (all other countries), I will ship via USPS Small Flat Rate Box for $13.95 plus insurance fee. I will only accept payment through PayPal. I will ship to the address linked to your paypal account unless otherwise specified. If you are interested in purchasing any of these Flying-Eagle Geocoins, please email me and include "Flying-Eagle Geocoin" in the subject line so I know it is not junk mail. Specify the quantity you want along with your PayPal email address and I will send you a PayPal Invoice. Once I receive payment, I will ship the coin(s) within 48 hours. For International shipments, I am still trying to figure out how to do all the custom forms and figure out the requirements, so it may take a little longer.
  11. I am hoping to sell some of my Flying-Eagle geocoins through the forums in the next couple weeks. I need to do some reasearch on how to sell these through the forums and how I can ship Internationally as well. I assume I just let people know the price (plus s/h) I am asking and if anyone is interested request they email me with the quantity, and then I send them a PayPal invoice since I would request payment through PayPal? Is this correct for anyone that has sold or purchased coins through the forums before?
  12. Thanks for the cointest. I just created and minted my first geocoins (Flying-Eagle geocoin). I have started my own geocoin collection recently and don't have this one yet. I hope I will be able to add it to my collection.
  13. The coins have finally arrived and I will start selling them on ebay this week. I currently have one listed, but will try to list more soon. I am using ebay auction right now, but may sell some at a later date at a fixed price. I have heard requests to sell some through the forums, so I may look into that at a later time as well and will update this forum if I decide to offer them here. Right now, I need to pay some huge medical bills for my son and auction is my best method to get us through right now. Hopefully I can change this at a later time to offer it to those who are not willing to use ebay or auction.
  14. Good timing on your update request. I just got word about 10 minutes ago that they are finished and are getting shipped out this week. I should hopefully have them sometime early next week. I hope to have some on ebay for sale shortly after that.
  15. Today I came across another geocacher as I was leaving a cache site and was getting back into my car when he stopped me to chat about geocaching. We chatted for a while and he gave me a really neat geocoin so I could start my own geocoin collection. He told me how proud he was of this coin and how he knew I would cherrish it as much as he did. This was his first geocoin and it meant the world to him and he wanted to give it to someone else that would cherrish it as much as he did for so many years. He said this was his last time geocaching and didn't explain to me why, but he really wanted me to have this special coin. I was so excited that I accidentally dropped the coin while looking at it. It started rolling down the parking area and we both ran after it as the coin went straight for the storm-drain. We were too late; down it went. We both sat their in disbelief staring down into the drain for over 30 minutes without saying a word. His eyes were filled with tears and I felt terrible. Finally another geocacher arrived and we told him our sad story. He said "Don't worry, another geocoin will come your way soon." And what do you know, I came home and found this cointest. So I deserve the coin for coming up with a lame story to make you feel sorry for me and want to send me the coin (or at least want to send it to the make-believe guy that gave it to me). But it is true that I'm starting my own geocoin collection and this would be a great addition.
  16. I got my final samples for my Flying-Eagle geocoin. They are starting production on these this month (July). I took a picture next to a quarter to show the actual size.
  17. I got the final samples this week and they are the correct size now. I am adding a picture with the Flying-Eagle geocoin next to a quarter to show the size. They will go into production this month (July) but I'm not sure yet how long it will be until I receive them. I have not determined a price yet. That will depend on my final costs.
  18. I got word last week that the samples may be ready by the end of June. I will post a new picture when it arrives. The original sample was way larger than we had agreed upon so they needed time to rework it to the original specifications we had agreed on. If all looks well, they may be in production as soon as next month (July).
  19. Yes, this is still in the works. I am having the coin reworked so it is smaller in diameter. I felt the original coin was too large and asked to have them made smaller. I'm not certain of the ETA yet on the smaller coins.
  20. Here is a picture with better lighting that shows the colors better: I also had my son playing with one all day to see how it holds up to a lot of handling and stress. I knew people would be concerned whether the hinges would hold up, so I wanted to put it though some stress tests. Its still holding strong and shows no signs of hinge malfunction or wear. He absolutely loves it, so I probably will never get that one back.
  21. I got my Flying-Eagle geocoin sample today:
  22. Yes, I did design the coin so it could lay flat. Here is a picture laying flat:
