  1. i got the same cancellation email. but "Unfortunately, the following item is not currently available from any of our sources." is different than "oops, we messed up on the price". so i replied nicely, to please keep my order open until they ARE available from your sources. or maybe a rain check? we'll see
  2. um....like thios was pointed out on page one of this topic, but thanks for assuming no one could understand it, and posting it again. missed that post. so sue me.
  3. there is this one lil thing on the Target website under "Pricing"... *If an item's correct price is lower than our stated price, we charge the lower amount and ship you the item. *If an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.
  4. they list the regular for $169, maybe that's where the goof up is. http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1_...asin=B000058BCQ just wonder what that "bonus pack" means; even tho the description makes it clear it's the handheld GPS.
  5. Pegasus Flyer I Travel Bug [TB388F] i had some friends plant a travel bug in D.C. unfortunately they didn't put it IN a cache, but rather NEAR a cache ( within 100ft of the virtual cache Awakening [GC15F1] ). could someone please rescue it and put it in a cache so it can get on it's way. this is the travel bug: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=14479 according to my friend... N38'51.498 W 077'01.345 is within 30 feet of it. N38'51.494 W 077'01.323 is within 2 feet of it. If you feel under the edge of the leg where the top of the leg touches the ground you will find it.

  7. i bought the beanbag for my eTrex Legend. i use it in my Beetle and it works great. but i had to pay $30+ for it. good luck finding it cheaper.
  8. I found this interesting from American Airlines... http://www.aa.com/content/customerService/baggage/carryOnAllowance.jhtml "Devices That Cannot Be Used on Board... Portable Global Positioning Satellites (G.P.S.)" Seems to me a Satellite would probably violate the allowed size for a carry on.
  9. I’ve updated the CacheFinder program for the Pocket PC. I added a PC program also that lets you enter data from the PC. you still manually have to move the 'caches.xml' file from your pc to your palm pc to see the changes. on the palm pc, I added a 'clue' section and a status (found, not found, couldn't find). also you can save 5 points of reference to calculate from (home, work, etc). let me know what you think. http://users3.ev1.net/~fuzidave/cachefinderupdate.zip
  10. lots of good public and private ideas. "Can you import a GPX file and sort it?" i have a stupid question, what generates a GPX file? right now data entry is just a lot of tapping on the palm keyboard. suggestion was made to having a PC program to generate the XML. working on that, then using ActiveSync to send over the file. "Jordona Problem" like i said i only tested on my iPaq. the processors listed came from the MS Embedded tools documentation, if they actually work, who knows. but my bro just got one of those, so maybe i can test on his.
  11. here's a simple program I wrote for my iPaq 3845. half the time, I’m somewhere and wonder what caches are around that I’m interested in and how far. so I wrote this little 'proximity' program. give it a look if you care. http://users3.ev1.net/~fuzidave/finder.html
  12. when i got my Legend in the summer and biked around the a lake (95 degrees), over every rough bridge it seemed to shut off. and i got responses like 'it's the batteries' and such. but later in the year (50s to 80s), have done the same route w/o any problems. so i'm thinking heat (or temperature in general) may factor in too.
  13. Ok, I wasn't able to GeoCache to plant my travel bug , so I set it free behind the Shelborne (www.shelborne.com) hotel. I hid it at N 25 47.643 W 080 7.644, it's near the 2nd fence post of a small slatted fence by a big bush and rusting chair and other metal things. Would anybody be willing to capture my 'free range' travle bug? thanks.
  14. flying into Miami International...or some such thing.
  15. I'm going to be in Miami over this weekend (Feb 7th) and not sure how much time I'll have caching. But I'd like to release a travel bug while I'm there. Would any Florida cacher like to release it for me? I'll be staying in the Shelborne hotel. Please email me if you can. Thanks.
  16. i first had a Venture and loved it. w/ the $50 rebate i decided to get the Legend since it has the base road maps. i like it just as much. the only downside i've seen, depending on detail you have setup, it can take a few seconds to draw all the roads. not a terrible amount of time, but just noticable.
  17. I was biking yesterday around White Rock Lake in Dallas with my Garmin Venture on my handle bars. I noticed going over the wood bridges (which are quite the bone shakers) my GPS would shut off. Do I have a problem? or are they just not good with a lot of vibration? thanks ~Fuz
