  1. Looks like unforseen circumstances are going to keep Gramma from going on the trip with me. I will probably be looking for someone who needs a ride on Saturday to help me navigate. Still won't know until Friday morning. Would be glad to have someone ride with me. Honda Accord, leather seats, air conditioning. A little cramped in the back seat but could possible accomadate one more. Looking forward to it. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  2. Have had my GPS V for almost a year now and I can't say anything bad about it. Gets me to the caches without having to worry about looking at maps to navigate or having the co-pilot tell me where to go. Very seldom do I lose lock even under dense tree cover. If you travel far for vaction or business it is great to find anything. The only thing I would change would be the ability to choose not to load points of interest to have more room for maps. We have over 470 finds with it in less than a year of use and I can't imagine anything better for this sport. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  3. My first attempt (and only one so far) back in November of last year I had similar experiences to GeoNap. Almost drowned in the same bottomless ditch, got tangled up in a hidden barb wire fence, and ran into many dead ends with no way through the blackberry vines short of napalm or agent orange (it has been proven that agent orange will only make blackberry vines grow faster, not kill them ). It is a very evil place but I too have ideas on how to defeat this cache but it is just too early yet unless you want to swim and still too cold in the water for that. This could be a good competion to see who gets there first. No rules, may the best man, woman, team win. If I thought it would help I would be even be willing to jump out of a perfectly good airplane again, no I'm not airborne, I just did sport skydiving for fun, loved to fall from the sky for long distances with bunches of other people. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  4. So which city are you in and where is the park with eight caches in it. Gramma's family all live in the DC area so we get back there about once a year or so. The last time there we couldn't go caching because of a little sniper problem , didn't want to be more of a target than I already am. We should be going back in September and I want to get a bunch of caches this time. Hope the heat and humidity aren't melting you. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  5. quote: Wouldn't the drive to Beaverton Transit center be a constant distance regardless of the location of a MAX accessible cache: . PHTTTTTTTTTTTTTT... . Yeah but you know they make you ride with other people in the same car with you, no private cars, yuck . I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  6. Well first I had to work a couple hours OT today then come home and fix dinner and make sure everyone got fed then Gramma said I could go get it. So off I went. Yeah, yeah I know, no rocks this time but it was glass, and pink and pretty . Well this time I traded up, way up. Yes I took the Oregon Geocoin, but I traded another one with a higher number for it, traded up, get it . Oh yeah and I left our SI also and signed the log. The cache container is now very full so please take big stuff and leave smaller. Thanks for the fun and I believe I see a pattern forming here. But remember the Max travels east also, (means less gas for me to get to them ). Thanks for the fun. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  7. Finally able to answer this one. Went out yesterday to find this. Seeing TJ as the first finder on a micro really threw me. I just knew I could find this myself with just the coords. Forgot all about what the name of the cache was and molested an organic (non-magnetic) item because it was the perfect place for a micro cache to be hiding and the coords fit . Finally realized the error of my ways and found it in minutes. Amazing what information you can find even in the name of a cache . Traded a piece of pink polished glass for TJ's coin. I just hope a kitten doesn't have to suffer for each of these you put out cause we would like to see more of them done this well. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  8. Very cool coins and congratulations on your 100th find today. Could you send us some info on where you had them made and cost and stuff? We have thought about having our own mad on occasion, just never did it. Once again way cool. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  9. So Dr I. we are ready. Bring it on. Just don't use any recently acquired bunsen burners in your plan they are loyal to me . Voss should we bring any of the decoder stuff we have acquired over the last six months to help with the plans. Who should you trust, not the old people. We may be slower but are smarter and have better insurance. See you all there. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  10. One or both of us will be there during the day untill..... the fun ends or our bedtime comes . I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  11. Ditto what Sassquatch said. We thought the idea was kinda weird at first for the first two cache machines but after reading about both of them it sounds like a fun get together with a bunch of the kind of nice people we have met at other geocahcing events. Fun time for all. The cache machine idea is not for everyone and that is what makes this sport, game, hobby, whatever so fun. You can make it happen any way you want to and if others do it differently I say good for them. We like to experience new things and this is one of them. For those who don't like the idea of a cache machine event that is cool also, you don't have to like it, just don't force me to adapt to your beliefs and I won't force mine on you. We can all choose what works for each of us. Sounds like a fun time and that is what we are after. Just my nickels worth. Enjoy the sport in your own way and let others enjoy it their way. Just having fun. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  12. Well, even without the wife and the Pi Rats it will be good to meet you this weekend, looking forward to it. Love to get one of your special bumper stickers and I will be extra early to do some special cache maintenance there . See you there. Arghhhhh.. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  13. Congratulations on your anniversary in geocaching. Ours is coming up July 4th and hopefully we'll be able to get over to central Oregon and pick up some more of your caches by then. Sassquatch, we'll show you how to hook up the alarms at your place if you want, really simple setup but you have to get used to them going off at all hours . I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.

  15. .Hands down the Sea Hag in Depoe bay has the best clam chowder on the coast. Also the Tidal Raves Restarant in the north part of town has great food, sometimes hard to get a table on the weekends though, very popular. Sea Hag has a seafood buffet on Friday nights. Then there are bunches of caches in Lincoln City and on the road down to Depoe Bay and on down to Newport. Enough to keep anyone busy for a full weekend. I agree with sassquatch about Angels 7, but watch out for the landslide and the house hanging over the edge of the cliff. After your chowder at the Sea Hag do Salmon Crossing. When you check out the bridge at the entrance to the bay think about this Conde's Creations. You can't go wrong on the Oregon coast, lots to see and do to keep everyone busy and happy. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  16. We are planning on attending and looking forward to meeting some of the new and new old faces. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  17. Just made our reservations at the Strathmore so barring any unforseen disasters we are going to be there. Looking forward to it with great anticipation . I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  18. Sorry it's so late but it has been a long day. The California grandkids and mom arrived back from visiting mom's family up north. They are on their way back to the bay area tomorrow. Grandpa's Little Rocker was born about two ten this afternoon. Six pounds ten ounces nineteen inches, ten, ten, and one. Mom, dad, and baby are all doing well and send their thanks for the kind wishes and good thoughts. Thanks and here's a picture of the little feller. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  19. Just checking to see if anyone was up yet. Probably already out caching, looks to be another great day. We won't be out today, I have to head back to the hospital. Just popped home to pick up a few things. Have been up since 4 AM cause we're having another grandson today . Hope he gets out while there is some daylight left and maybe we can snag a couple caches later. I'll just call him Grandpa's Little Rocker when we take him out caching. We got # 400 yesterday and tomorrow is our anniversary so no caching but I'm still a lucky guy. Happy Easter everyone. See you on the trails. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  20. Put us on the list please, we are vey interested. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.

  22. I guess they must have gotten tired after looking at our first 286 and figured the new 100 we have were legit also . I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  23. Put me down for two (2) 2XL. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  24. When we find caches we always leave free autographs behind . Funny they picked our log out of Dead Governors because I think I chided the cache owners about maintenance on the cache cause of all the water in it. We also praised them on a really neat cache idea and really liked doing the cache. Anyone going down Salem way caching should really do it. It is quite unique. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
  25. We have a special interest in various parts of this park and one or both of us will be there if possible. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here.
