^^ Good post. The one thing I would add is water. No matter where you're caching, keeping hydrated is numero primo. Uhh...of utmost importance. Anyway, I like packing my gear in a camelbak. Keeps water and doodads at the ready.

New to this forum... Good info here, thanks. We're generally in the same boat as the majority. We normally log a DNF if we made an honest attempt and could not find it. I say "normally" 'cause we forget to log on occasion.
