  1. Congratulations. I 've had my 60Csx for about a month and love it. Very quick to acquire the "birds". I got a 1Gb card for it last week and loaded City Select maps for most of the US west of the Mississippi and parts of the east coast (about 600mb). Tons of room left for add'l states or topo maps. Enjoy!
  2. On my 60Csx after finding the cache (using th "Go To" option) I have to hilite "Found" and hit enter on the compass page to open the chest. It doesn't do that automatically.
  3. This is the best I have achieved so far with the Garmin GPSMap 60Csx. Had a full lock on ten birds including #35 and a partial (1 bar) on #9. Since I've had it (about two weeks) it seems to average around 12ft in the open.
  4. I am new to geocaching and have had my 60Csx for about two weeks now. This is my first GPSr so I have nothing to compare it to. I haven't had any problems with it yet and have had accuracy down to 9ft in the best conditions. It would be helpful to have the autorouting tones louder. I just bought a 1Gb card for it and loaded 600mb of City Select (v7) maps into it with a card reader this morning in about 10 minutes. Seems to work fine. I did download the firmware 2.60 version from Garmin's site previously. It would also be nice if they could get it to talk to GSAK without having to go through Mapsource.
  5. Hmm, I've only had my 60CSx for a week too and thought that you just had to watch the battery icon at the top left of the screen as the segments turn clear to know the condition of the battery. Perhaps I missed it, but I don't recall seeing anything about the battery run time meter in the manual.
  6. I just got a Garmin 60CSx and noticed that it has the 2.50 firmware version. How can I upgrade to 2.60? I also bought a 1Gb microSD card today and want the expanded map segment limitations that the 2.60 version offers. Thanks! Nevermind, I just looked on Garmin's website and they have a download section for updates for all products and I see the firmware 2.60 version is available for the 60Cxs.
  7. I tried the autorouting with my 60CSx this morning going to work. I work just off of the freeway. When I was about 6 miles from work the 60CSX told me to take the next exit which is no where close to my job. I had the options set for "follow road" and "shorter distance". Once I passed the exit it recalculated to the correct exit. I never lost contact with the satellites so I wonder why it prompted me to take the wrong exit. It wasn't a faster or shorter alternative. Anyone else had problems with auto routing? Thanks
  8. I've found my new Garmin 60CSx to be outstanding. No buyers remorse in any sense of the term. I've had my 60CSx for a week now and really like it. The compass feature is great for geocaching and the auto routing going to work today was easy to follow. I was able to load both the San Diego and LA regions from the City Streets software with a little room to spare. I may invest in a bigger SD card though for topo maps. Enjoy!
  9. I finally figured it out. I needed to specify a prefix to the MPS file name. Thanks for your quick replies!
  10. I get an error reading in GSAK when I try to export to Mapsource File. ("You Cannot Create a File Here. That Folder does not exist.")
  11. Thanks, when I try to export the GSAK file to Mapsource it says "You can't creat that file here. It does not exist" I'm very new to this. Thanks
  12. Just got a Garmin GPSMap60Csx into which I'm trying to load waypoints from GSAK from a pocket query I did. However, after clicking the "Send Waypoints" box in GSAK the "Loading Waypoints" message goes on forever without loading any. I checked the USB connection and it appears to be connected properly (and I checked the appropriate box in the GPS setup screen for the USB connection). Also when I disconnect the USB cable the loading stops with an error reading that the connection failed so I think the connection itself is ok and the problem lies with GSAK. Any ideas? I'd really like to find my first cache today. Thanks, John
