there are a few coins i am specifically looking for that i would pay quite a bit for.....if you happen to have any of the water otter geocoins, evil micros, or geojellies. or anything with an owl. I will buy them up. (not asking to search for them; just if you already know you have them....might as well make a sale) unfortunately i do not have the money to bulk order alot of coin nor do i collect alot that i would need tons of random ones for trading. I would buy a grab-bag for 5-10 a coin with the purposes of using them for giving to people. (would rather buy cheap coins so i can give free coins to more people)

thanks for the suggestions, will keep everything in mind. We will be caching in a state park for the events and cell phone service may or may not work. also in the case of an emergency we would like the second option of communication. (iphone may just break in a tumble) any additional recommendations would be appreciated.

Wooden nickles are an option too. But are not trackable... On Groundspeaks site. why are they not trackable if you put on a real tracking number bought from Groundspeak?

if i understand you, you use your iphone and some other hardware to tranfer caches to your gpsR? i would like to know what app allows you to do that. (or tweak) unless i read that wrong and that is not what you are doing.

I am looking to buy two way radio's for me and my caching partner. We are going to a mega event soon and would like a way to contact each other in case of emergency or for boredom sake while competing in individual events. Would like cost to stay under $50 ea. so $100 total. (not sure if they sell these in packs or individually) only requirement would be FRS/GMRS dual band. am looking for ones with a good amount of features and good range. I am thinking some people here probably use or at least own two way radios and have knowledge that will help me make a good buy. thanks for any help, i really appreciate it.

the new update for the GC unlocks it to almost all features of the 310, you probably could get $80 max for this. just letting you know. unless someone really needs the extra features not related to geocaching. or in a time when the GC isn't on sale for $100 less. anyway best of luck theses are great starter gpsR.

intrepid dyad WEEK 2 most logged geological location geocoins in area they represent. like state coins logged in caches in that state and country coins in the country. same for any coins based around parks or other area's like a mt. Everest coin logged in the cache at mt. Everest.

As pointed out in the release note, just because there is no cache already there is not a guarentee that you can hide a cache there. The reviewer may be aware of locations that are off-limits for some other reason (including land managers who request a separation of more that .1 miles). As the owner of some puzzles, I'm already a bit ticked at the new map. I'm certain that people will use this to find potential spots where the puzzle might be and find my caches that way. The data is already available, but displaying it this way encourages people to use it to bypass solving of puzzles. I do not think this map is for finding caches.and honestly blank spots on a map are not very useful for finding hidden stages. those that could do this, probably already could without the extra circles. I think we should be able to have the circles show up for hidden stages as well; as long as the person accepts a very strict terms of agreement that prohibit using the map to cheat. It simply doesn't help much without showing them when placing anything other then stupid park and grabs. Even if they never allow that, there are some things that could be implemented. color coding, so we can see the multi's and mystery caches more clearly and know that there may be hidden stages near by. I really like that mystery caches not at the posted coordinates don't show up; except they need to show up in dotted lines. as it stands we have places off limits on the map with no clear indication or any mystery cache nearby to explain why the area is off limits. in the image below you can see the circle road in the bottom left corner. i placed the icon for one of my mystery caches in the middle of the circle. then somewhere in the same picture is the cache, but it does not have a circle surrounding it to show that a large area is off limits. this is a problem. Either mysteries need to show up with dotted lines or the hidden stages need to be visible. also color coding would help in any case. image tag is disabled it seems, linked, if against rules i ask a mod to review it first and at least pass my concerns off to the development team first

looking forward to the lab cache at moga 2014....just curious what it will be.

now all we need is a better advanced search feature. like search by attribute (iOS and android)

thanks for the map for hiders, but honestly it still is pointless without hidden stages showing up as well. Just do away with centers and do not allow people so see exactly where they are. then of course warn people about spoilers before continuing. I love caching for hiding, not really finding them. and i hate virtual puzzle caches. honestly don't care if i accidentally figure a crossed out area must be the hidden stage to a virtual puzzle. and i am not inclined to skip ahead in a multi. just have a no-cheat policy, or have this option unlock once you accept more firm terms of agreement. If you go into it with the mindset to place a cache, your not really thinking about what the circles mean anyway and what must be hidden there. also to make this map more useful, i recommend having the mystery caches that are not at the posted coordinates not show up, or show up with dotted lines or another way to show the area can have a physical cache (if this is not how it already is set up) at the very least i would like the option to opt in to see all true locations a cache may be hidden.

make a fake account and adopt it to that account. then i recommend watching them, so if they reemerge, you then can adopt them back to your main account.

So i have seen places that will take your tracking number and engrave it on wood coins for you and i have seen travelfleas as well. as well as unique ideas. such as travel bugs being used as part of a specific cache. like ten or so would travel around local caches and have the coordinates needed to find a specific mystery cache they where placed out for. these are all ideas that enhance the abilities of trackables. I would like to start a discussing forum on sharing diffrent ideas for trackables. This is NOT a place to share alternatives to trackables that are hosted only elsewhere then geocaching.com; things like custom made items using an offical Groundspeak tracking code would fit in this category. however path tags would not. posting about how you once saw a path tag hitchhiker should be fine under my knowledge as long as you just share your experience and not post site links to the alternate tracking website. (i will edit this if a mod let's me know this still would not be allowed) main idea is at least one official trackable is used in the whole. (minimum) seen a travel bug hitch hike other travel bugs as well. I would like to learn more ideas for trackables as would others i think. so share away, but again try to keep this to mainly Groundspeak items and custom made items as possible, but share what you think others would gain from knowing about.

dang looks too expensive, would go as high as $25 shipped. wanted it for a geocoin game where people could guess the nember of jellybeans in a jar everytime they move the coin (and other restrictions) and who ever got it correct first would be able to put it into there collection. perhaps there are less rare and less expensive jellybean geocoins i should use instead
