  2. Oh,no! I leave for a weekend out of state, finally get to a computer and now no OZZY!!
  3. I'm thinking a little water wouldn't have hurt Ozzy a bit!
  4. Me too! Just don't forget to set a waypoint for your car before you go into those woods!
  5. This is so true! I leave for work at 6:15 most mornings and right now it is light enough in Connecticut for me to get a quick peak at Ozzy to start my day. Soon, though, I won't get to see him until after work!
  6. That's a great idea! What to call it - something like the Golden Splood Award?
  7. Doesn't look like he appreciated us watching him eat his dinner!
  8. Oh, yeah....that new splood looks like a seatbelt!
  9. Yes, I'm learning a lot from this forum! had to come to work before the sun was up and didn't get my "osprey fix" today! I hope those guys didn't roll over in theier sleep and knock Ozzy out of the nest!
  10. I think this link might answer the question that no one has asked - Why did that splood glow in the dark?? http://www.eurekalert.org/features/kids/20...t-fbp062405.php
  11. Oh, NO!! And I'm stuck at work all day too - and maybe even until after dark! Hope those with access to the camera can keep us posted.
  12. Looks like there is a cache there - GCGPDH Look in google earth at N 41° 10.550 W 073° 06.105 edit - I just started looking at the posts to the cache and someone submitted a picture of the osprey nest from the ground.
  13. Let me tell ya - Ozzy has taken over my life. First thing I do when I get up in the morning and get home from work at night is turn on the Osprey cam!
  14. uh uh... no stories from me....Google is my friend!
  15. BLUE BEAR IS GONE!!!! SEND OUT THE TROOPS - SEARCH AND RESCUE~~ I KNEW that rope looked suspicious! Whew! False alarm - the bird must have been trying to keep him warm.
  16. This rope just appeared and then disappeared. Is someone coming to Save Ozzy????
  17. Perhaps it's a Splood. Check out this website for the diagrams of the 'variations in ornithological dejecta' http://www.monpa.com/ba/anatomy.html A knowledge of the different parts of each splay is essential to fully describe and understand the variations in ornithological dejecta. Schplerter Large. Multiple extended and detached lobes. Usually taken at high speeds or results from extended drop height. Often has disintegrated nucleus. Schplutz Varies in size with large extended lobes. The lower ones may contain sub–nuclear particles and the occasional solid. Sklop Small. Clearly defined envelope and nucleus of roughly equal proportions. No tendency to lobe. Usually taken at low speeds or results from short drop height. Splerd Large. Envelope covers greater area than the nucleus which may be almost non–existent. Little distinction between inner and outer envelopes. Splood Varies in size. Typified by a single extended lobe which may contain sub–nuclear particles and occasionally solids. edited to add picture showing the nucleus, subnucleus and envolope on the post behind Blue Bear, aka Ozzy
  18. <deleted pic> Now he has company so he won't be so lonely edit - posted the picture the wrong way - it was in real time!
  19. Yes, he probably is lonely. I dont' know where his wifey is. I did see her stop by and pay him a visit yesterday evening, but I don't know if she stayed for the night.
  20. Does anyone know of a helicopter for rent?
  21. What is that white stuff in the middle of the nest? breakfast?
