  1. Just found it interesting that you and Lep both have the same profession. (Besides caching I mean), Seems like he does more caching than working. Welcome to the hobby, and see you on the trail! Joe Smith
  2. Never while caching, and I never actually saw it. We have a bit of a problem at the house with wild animals. We have raccoons living under the house, groundhawge digging unter the barn, and squirrels up in the attic. So whenever we shoot something we just toss it into the woods. Well the last raccoon I shot (and a big one too) was gone the next morning. When I checked it out I saw the tracks of either a dog or a coyote. Don't know, dont want to. As for caching, I was doing a cache in Moraine State Park and was heading back in the dark when I saw what i thought was a cat. Well, it was not a cat but actually a skunk who wanted to get real close to me and I was not going to let it, but at the same time didn't want to piss it off. So just backing away slowly did the trick. Now if i'm in a park and a dog comes up to me, no matter how friendly it looks I have my knife ready just in case. Never had to use it but better safe than sorry. I know a neighbor got tore up really bad with a dog and his friend had to beat it off with a stick. Not a pleasant situation. Joe Smith Edit: Also when we were in Alaska taking a hike (not caching but I had the gps) we hear a crashing through the brush to see a mommy mose running away from us. Thinking everything is okay we round the next corner ony to be ten feet away from the baby. in no mood to see mommy up close again we RAN out of there. Not really a predator, but a moose can be deadly.
  3. You guys having problems with the backlight? Used to be if you were following a route with the backlight on it would come on with the next turn pop up. Now it doesn't even when you press a button. I keep missing turns in the dark, or have to keep turning my map light on and off. Joe Smith
  4. just a couple. I don't know if there is wnough support for a full women's caching group, but maybe they can have a "girls night out" or something. Joe Smith
  5. Yes, but quality is better than quantity. and like you say we have briansnat and JMbella Joe Smith
  6. true, but with an address and an autorouting gps I can get there anyways. For a class we had to look up quite a bit of information on our professor including banking information, house pictures and value, his personal salary, ext... It took about two hours. I'm not too worried about giving out coordinates But why make it easy for them, so I won't I live north of Pittsburgh in a rural area called west deer. I'm about a mile west of deer lakes high school living at the end of a private drive, and on a ridge. anyone want to try and map it out? Do you live here? Very close. I gave you bad directions. It's closer to a mile and a half and south west. Didn't ave the gps when I posted the other day. I'm right here
  7. With a description like that, it says "A gun also lives here" Do you have any cold beer in the fridge? Yes, we have a case in the mud room fridge, and hat door is never locked. COME ON IN!!! Oh, and we do have guns. So unless you shout "I"M A GEOCACHER" it might be a bit scary.
  8. been working for me all day. A little slow, but working Gmail on the other hand.....................................
  9. Talk to someone going to school for elementary education. They teach you how to work with numbers in binary up to base twelve. That being said I'm still confused, and I got an A on that test.
  10. it's good to have a Tb hotel by an airport to help fellow cachers. The problem is safety. It isn't nice to put a cache next to a cliff because that you would put someone in danger. putting a cache here will also put people in danger of being hassled by the cops. It may cause the frustration of being questioned for a few hours, and the cache may end up archived anyways. I'd put one somewhere else.

  12. Often when I am looking for the portable phone in the dark i'll grab the first thing that's on the bedstand. A few weeks ago I picked up the gps the same time whoever called hung up. The result wat about 30 seconds of me telling my gps to speak up Joe Smith
  13. In before the lockdown oh, and someone needs a hug
  14. And be of the wrong size and shape. Personally i would have it outside the museum requiring visitors to use a gps to find it. Then they will have an idea of the sport
  15. Some people care, I just don't like latin I guess i care about not liking latin? but at least i'm having fun
  16. Simply point out your feelings in a nice way. This may not be a good place to put a cache I did not enjoy this cache Just because you can put one here does not mean you should On private property Joe Smith
  17. Don't they just burn up? I think so, but wouldn't it be great! edit: The space shuttle is capable of bringing staelites back to earth in the cargo bay. Naturally that will cost around 5 bazzilion dollars, so I think they just leave them up there.
  18. What's with everyone wanting to use latin? It's a dead language because it's hard to speak. Ever say something to a friend in latin? they look at you like you're a raving lunatic. and it flows about as well as molasses in December. oh, back on topic: I think the simple: Geocachers do it in the woods! works well, but nowadays I think it might have to be "Geocachers do it in parking lots" What's that in latin?
  19. Wow That was nothing compared to a log i left for a local wal*mart micro. I got my log deleted too I understand why he did it, we talked a few times and are actually on good terms. He said I could re log a simple "found it" if i wanted to, but I just left it as it was. If I were you, send him an email just to let him know why it's deleted (I think he knows anyways) and see if you can go find a cache sometime. Good way to turn lemons into lemonade. Joe Smith
  20. Really? Where? Check nudecacher's profile/gallery (intentionally not hyperlinked here!) Ya chicken, just post it... nudecachers profile Questional or not I have respect for a guy that can do that. I wanted to log Snoogan's nude cacher locationless on terracaching and even took the pics but just couldn't fathom pictures of me nude out in the internet. Good pics though, keep up the good work
  21. Check for a local place that does trophes. Usually they have little plates they engrave. Holes in it already. While you're there you might ask them how much it would be to engrave. Usually it's cheap. Joe Smith
  22. And I spent two weeks getting my picture PERFECT! oh well, I understand Joe Smith
  23. understandable, you guys are busy enough as it is. Just thinking about my fifteen minutes of fame, and a job offer from playboy when they see my amazing photography on geocaching.com Anyways, thanks for the quick reply, and keep up the good work. Joe Smith
  24. Just a few quick questions. The rotating pictures on the main page. Are they a few select pictures from the large directory, and if so who gets to pick what is shown. i know most of my pics are too boring, but one or two may look good. Joe Smith
