I think using Garmin for marking coordinates is way better. Have been a fan of Garmin ever since and I find it very convenient.

I tried it out too and got the same "reaction" from the site. If this would be able to adapt to a host of touch devices nowadays, it will surely rock!

It has always been a well-founded rule of mine to never buy parts/accessories/etc directly from the manufacturers. You can expect these things to be costly when you buy it from them. Anyway, a newer Mac may solve your problem.

Have always loved Garmin Gmaps 60CSx. It's handy and easy to use.

There is lots of support for Garmin and I've been using one too. For me that is the best option.

I do agree. Between the two, the iPhone oftentimes has more issues sue to being very proprietary.
