In my humble newbie opinion there is nothing wrong with a Bookcrossing cache. I don't see it as being commercial. We placed a Bookcrossing book (among several other items) in our first placed cache.

I like the idea, but in the mean time what I do is either print the cache page or add it to my watch list.

Welcome! My wife and I also just started, and every one of the caches we've found so far has been a blast. We've found cool places that we didn't even know existed, right in our own neighborhood. We got to see the L.A. City F.D. perform rescue drills in a remote area. Saw a rattler. The adventures just keep getting better. It sure beats surfing the net ALL the time! We're planning our own cache for hiding soon.

We are new to this and just picked up the eTrex Legend yesterday. In 2 days we got 11/12 and the Legend got us within 5 feet of every one. The only one we didn't get to was due to parking problems. Paul & Suzanne Your Mileage May Vary
