  1. @Ranger Fox Well after a few months of tinkering on and off with this idea... I have managed to get a working version of the Whack-a-Lackey cartridge with pirates instead of moles. Although testing in the field is yet to take place, the emulators show signs of it working as expected, with one small glitch. Once a game is completed and score of more than 700 is achieved, there is no message to reveal coordinates of the cache. I am aware of the 20 mile radius limit for this to display. Is this an issue due to use of an emulator? I have limited knowledge of Urwigo and even less with Builder and next to no knowledge of hand written code. My aim is to get a cache coordinate message to appear after scoring more than 700 on any of the 3 game levels. At present the cache coordinates are yet to be finalised so the original zmediaCoordinates linked media file is still used, which I can change at a later date. It seems the forum file types prevent me from uploading the cartridge file for those with greater knowledge to see.
  2. Thanks Hugh and Ranger Fox for the tips. .... source file downloaded and a modification to muggle level is under way.
  3. Hi Ranger Fox, thanks for the response. An obvious question is how do I get hold of the .gwz file? Wig-Crumbler produced an .lua file that I can open in visual studio and also Notepad but that is also the one producing the error message in builder as shown above. Wig-Crumbler described the file as .... Description: This is the decompiled Lua-Code extracted from the cartridge. As the author of the original cartridge would you be able to kindly provide a .gwz file to set me on my way?
  4. Hi, Complete noob question time here...... I wish to make a private build based upon the popular Whack-a-Lackey cartridge, where the characters popping up will be pirates - akin to the child's game of Pop Up Pirate. I am using Win 10 x64 and have been reading previous threads about the issues and resolutions required to get the Wherigo Builder to work in that OS. I have managed to download the zip file for the Builder after logging into the forums but all of the map files just return .ipb? files and not zip files. I have saved the notes Ranger Fox kindly wrote about making changes to this cartridge. I have downloaded the original cartridge but the builder does not see the .gwc file on the open command - is this because it is already compiled? I have used WigCrumbler to gain some .lua files but the builder does not like the ones produced. Screenshot of error message attached. Any help in simple terms would be greatly appreciated to get the map issue sorted and how to open the cartridge file to make the changes.
  5. I have created my first cartridge using urwigo and it runs fine on the urwigo emulator. I have created a gwc all devices file for testing and it stalls at a character selection option in webwigo, after which the character should move to player inventory. The project file from which the gwc file was made still runs ok in urwigo. Is there anyone who can assist and maybe give me a steer where and why it is falling over? Not sure if I need to post the whole thing (which I don't want to give away free) or just the code. All help appreciated.

    URWIGO builder

OK, so solved the above issue but have now found another. In the cartridge the player is asked to select 1 character from 4 which is then added to player. In a later zone one of the selected characters dies. How do I deal with the selected character. I have tried 'If' player contains (character name), followed by death scene. I can repeat this 4 times to cover the 4 options for the selected character but cannot find a way to use the 'Else' condition. Is there another /better way to write this?

    URWIGO builder

Just started out with my first cartridge using Urwigo. I have a number of characters and I want to separate gameplay depending on the characters selected. Would an If/Else statement manage this? I have 4 main characters so for instance if A or B are in the inventory, set zone West active. If C or D are in the inventory, set zone East active. Grateful for any pointers
  8. Same issue for us .... Whilst abroad recently I downloaded a list of 14 caches for offline use. Then, when out of wifi range of various hotels the list was not showing as downloaded for offline use (no green tick). Once back in wifi range I could download the list again but when the wifi connection was lost and an attempt to access the list was made the app either crashed or the dowloaded list was lost. Now back in the UK and the problem persists, even with wifi connection. I can download a list and select that list to display. If I then use the 'back arrow' to return to the view of all of the lists, the downloaded list (green tick) has gone from the one I chose to download. This error has been replicated on 3 different android phones, 2 of them using app version 7.7.0 on Android 8.0.0. One phone is a Samsung SM-A520F and the other a Samsung SM- 600FN. We rely on the app for our geocaching and also rely on offline lists a lot. Therefore we would be grateful for a speedy resolution.
  9. Hi, we recently completed the Reverse Cache - Beta by Waldmeister which, on completion provides a code to allow another person to create their owe Reverse style Wherigo anywhere in the world. We have taken a screen shot of the code and also the instructions for creation of the new one. The instructions state we should go to the GZ, re-open the cartridge and select 'create a Wherigo' from the menu. The only problem is that we are not seeing that option in the menu. The Wherigo was completed in the UK and we are now in Cyprus where we wish to create the new Reverse Wherigo. We have start location and final location co-ords and the hide is in place. I have downloaded Urwigo and located some open source codes for another Reverse cache but even after unzipping the gwz file the lua file is not being recognised by Urwigo. We have also written to the owner of the original one but have not received any reply. Grateful for any help that can be given.
