  1. Is it or can it be considered to be bad form or unsporting or both for a host of an event to log an "Attended" log to their own event? We have always been told that this is bad form and should be avoided. Can I ask what does everyone else think???
  2. AS AN UPDATE: Thanks for all the input and we have noted that some of you have said we should contact the challenge cache owner however this morning the other 5 cachers who have objected to this situation have passed on more info. The challenge cache owner was part of the team which completed the challenge and the cacher who included his own caches as part of his finds has also allowed for them to be included as part of the team finds. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place. We have also decided that we will not be taking on this challenge any further as this has left a bad taste in our mouths and we worry that we may be associated with what has happened.
  3. We have noted that a challenge has been completed recently and as part of that challenge some of those who have completed have claimed finds of their own caches to do so. This has completely put us off from taking the challenge. We are just 1 of 6 cachers who aren't wonderfully happy about what has happened and were wondering what we should do as we feel this should be reported. Many thanks.
  4. In a nutshell the puzzle is below and is driving me nuts. Any help would most greatly appreciated. DISC is now more commonly an acronym for Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance. All individuals display characteristics of all four factors which can be identified as being either 'High' or 'Low'. There is an article on Wikipedia about it. The link to it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DISC_assessment Dominance refers to how individuals relate to control, power and authority. eg, High = Competitive, Low = Unassuming Influence refers to how individuals relate to others and styles of communication. eg, High = Confident, Low = Retiring Steadiness refers to individual's pace and patience. eg, High = Relaxed, Low = Tense Compliance refers to how an individual relates to policy, structure and organisation. eg, High = Disciplined, Low = Defiant Read the description of the cache below, decide which characteristics refer to which factor, both High and Low, then transfer the numbers into the co-ordinates to find the cache! 'This cache is located under a rather forceful and assertive container - it really can't be missed when you have the co-ordinates. It is a mobile little number and can be quite restless and active when you pick it up, so please be alert so as not to drop it and use firm handling. It is very demonstrative and fidgety and can take on different shapes. One would even say it was quite independent with a mind of it's own. I'm sure it will be a positive experience to find it. The cache itself is quite reserved, however, and appears a little self-conscious. It is fairly compliant and logical in caching terms with a log book, pencil, FTF medal, TB and room for small items. Please be careful and systematic when replacing it under the outer as it could easily get stuck - rigid to be precise! But being dependable cachers, you will be accurate in this and be accomodating to the enjoyment of others, won't you?' Now decide how many characteristics displayed relate to High D, Low D, etc and transfer into the co-ordinates below: N 53 High D High C High S Low C 1 W002 High I 9 Low D Low I Low S Hint: Please note that the characteristics are mixed up between the descriptions of the cache and outer and some may be perceived as relating to more than one factor but do only apply to one!! There are 22 in total and are all one word characteristics.... (hyphenated word counts as one) Many thanks in advance.
  5. We would be most appreciative for any help anyone can give us with the following puzzles caches: 1. It's All Greek To Me (GC2M826); 2. The Ancient Scroll (GC2MH27); and 3. Pigginshaw's Parchment (GC2PETZ). We would really like to know what the solution is and just how to solve them. We have tried many different methods but we have drawn massive blanks. Thanks in advance and happy caching!!!

  7. Our B+ Blood Donor TB has gone missing. It was last seen in GCYMG4 Smile! Have A Nice Day. We have contacted the cache owner and those who were last to find the cache. It would be great that if anyone suddenly comes across it they could let us know so that we know where it is. Also, we are trying to think of methods by which we could re-trace our TB. Any further assistance would be greatly appreciated. Reddevil1976
  8. That's a good one mate. We'll make a check on that. Cheers.
  9. We've done that but all he keeps saying is that the cache is still in place and that our co-ords are right.
  10. Have you explored the possibility that there is a feature that resembles a letter either within "Wyre" or a word that rhymes? We've tried everything. We had re-arranged the letters in 'Wyre' to spell ewry which is a vessel for holding household substances like juice or cutlery. We are just waiting for more cachers to find it to see if they leave any clues in their logs. As of yet, only 1 has found it. 6 others have had dnfs. We think that if the additional clue was clearer we'd have found it.
  11. Just as an update, we have contacted the cache owner (Slateman) and all he will tell us is that the cache is in place and that our co-ords are right. The additional clue just seems so weird. There seems to be an anagram in the word 'Wyre' but we can't find it. Thanks for the words PUP. We went back and tried them all but drew an eighth blank. I think we're going to have to give up on this one.
  12. We've been trying to find the Historic Garstang cache for a while. We have been there 7 times and each time as resulted in a DNF. The cache says the co-ords are spot on even though you land up in the private backgarden of a nursing home. The additional clue is: "The name 'Wyre' holds two cryptic clues. Look close at the letters within the word and 'Wyre' rhymes with...??" We and several other cachers are totally lost with this and the usual idea of asking the question "where would I hide a cache?" doesn't seem to be working. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
  13. If anyone has successfully found where L!zzardpower #7 is please could you let us know where it is. We have had 2 completely wasted adventures. We know that we have the correct co-ordinates. Any help would most appreciated.
  14. As I put on the bottom of the page, we'll be having our own mini-event on the Sunday in the pub so it's open to all. Be lovely to see you. Please come to Matt's too though [] Which pub and where?
  15. Please give me details of this meet , location, date etc. Really keen to join in.
