  1. Place a change profile shortcut on everyone of your profile's shortcut pages. (Shortcuts>Setup>Shortcuts>Add Page>then choose "profile change") Why do I need this? I tried to do it but can not figure out why I need it. A little more thought here. Hope that's not one of those stupid questions for the day.
  2. This was from Marky, There are a few steps to get PQ's working with a tomtom. 1) You need to create a POI category for them. A) Change Preferences->Manage POIs->Add POI Category Enter something like Geocache. Pick an marker (icon) for it. Now, there is a file that is created for you called Geocache.ov2 on your tomtom. That is what you need to write to from GSAK or gpsbabel. I don't know of any other software that writes to tomtom format. Connect your tomtom to your computer and turn it on. Answer YES to if you want to connect to your computer. This should mount the tomtom as a drive. I don't know what drive letter it will use on your system, you'll have to figure that out. Let's assume that it uses drive E. C) From GSAK, you need to select File->Export->TomTom POI File... You'll need to browse to your Geocache.ov2 file. It will probably be in E:\North_America\Geocache.ov2 D) If you want Tomtom to show Geocaches on the map, you'll have to enable them (Change Preferences->Enable/Disable POIs).
  3. The Wherigo games can not be played on Magellan Triton. I have been a Magellan user for 6 years, Started with the Platium, then Explorist XL & for a back up I have a Explorist 210. With the lack of support and firmware upgrades, I bailed and went with Garmin 400t Colorado. They both have draw backs but it seems like the Garmin people are working on fixing bugs. That's my .02
  4. That's working! Thanks. Kind of scrambling here tho.
  5. Same here. Getting ready for a trip & leaving for the airport in a couple hours.

  12. That's to bad about Ebay and some of the other special coins that are out there. I have been watching the The Geocoin Fairy logs for some time. Most coins do not do much for me, but these are very nice coins. I came close to getting one on a mad dash from Petaluma to Sacramento one evening in hopes of getting one. Hopefully you will change your mind tho. It was cool to see Dave at the event after his find. He was so stoked about it. Great pix to.
  13. If you are using GSAK you could export them as POI's and bump the numbers up to 450 or so. You already have the info in your PDA.
  14. Vista still SUCKS!!!! DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can get PQ's from a Vista machine with GSAK to my Mag XL, 210 & Tom Tom 910. Vista does not do Palm Quick Installs. There is work arounds but I could not figure any of them out. I went out and bought a Palm Tungsten & use the older XP maching to do Palm Quick Installs to do paperless caching.
  15. I have had my XL for over 1 year now & have been using Mapsend 3 on it.
  16. I had the same set up but it seemed a little flimsy, sent back the Companion and got a regular gps. Have fun what ever you do. Don
  17. Well, I got around to the firmware upgrade. Was that a mistake. All went well but when I turn the unit on it won't go past the blue screen. I have Vista to:-(
  18. Cachemate works on the 680. My computer died & the new one came with Vista. It sucks and does not do the Palm Quick install. There are ways to do it but none have worked for me.
  19. I got a tomtom 910 a few months ago. Here is what Marky sent me to get me going. I did it awhile ago and all is well. Vista is another story:-( There are a few steps to get PQ's working with a tomtom. 1) You need to create a POI category for them. A) Change Preferences->Manage POIs->Add POI Category Enter something like Geocache. Pick an marker (icon) for it. Now, there is a file that is created for you called Geocache.ov2 on your tomtom. 20. yeah............the quick install thing sucks. Started thinking about setting up the old PPC on the wife laptop. It has been nice just caring around 1 item, the Treo.
  21. I was able to get caches over to it with easy GPS. Still working on exporting with GSAK tho.
  22. & why do you think there is a website www.magellansucks.com well the link does not work, you can type it in your self tho
  23. I updated my XL with eXplorist XL Europe 1.55 today. So far so good. Now I can mark a geocache as found now. That only took 1 year. Seems like a few more bells & whistles to.
