  1. Check out this website. There are forums there as well as reviews. You can get tons of info. Personally I like Pocket PC. I have a ppc 2003 second edition todhiba e800. If you like the 'feel' of a windows pc then this is the best bet. Nothign wrong with palms either. I've just had better luck with the ppc's personally. Ford/chevy Garmin/Magellian White/Black PPC vs palm can be a nice big old can of worms
  2. That's no joke. First you're like "I'm only going to spen 'this' much on a gps" then you see another one, then you think, well if I'm already spending this much then I can just spend a few dollars more....THEN you say well if I'm alredy going above my budget I'll might as well get 'this' model. Yeah, I was just going to replace my yellow with a legend, then it changed to a legend C then it changed to a 60c.....
  3. It's on ebay. I just typed in garmin bike mount and that is the only kind that came up for the 60 series....
  4. Has anyone used on of these on their bicycle? Would it hold enough for light trail riding? I'd like to get this mount for my 60c and looking for a little feedback before i make the purchase.
  5. Amazon doesn't control the prices from what I understand. Amazon is like a search engine and gets prices for you from all over then provides links to buy the product.
  6. At first I though you meant you can talk on the radio while waiting for your beer to get done boiling/fermenting!
  7. Sorry about that it was my fault. It seemed appropriate at the time though.
  8. That's waht I thought. It's been a while since I had to use it.
  9. We're going crazy, anyone have the coordinates?
  10. We've only placed 1 cache, but we printed out and placed both the english and spanish version of the sheet in our cache.
  11. Yeah, those should go too. No corporate logo belongs in the cache descripiton. In my opinion anyway. They even are telling you to go in to buy a donut what's up with that?!?
  12. Locktight. It's a chemical you can get pretty much anywhere either in teh hardware or automotive section. You put it on the threads then screw the thing on. The licktight sets and the screw wont come out. Be aware thought there are different strengths, I believe you'd need blue for this application, red would pretty much render the screw unremovable. Check the colors before you buy. I'll be doing this to my 60c once it arrives, thanks for the heads up.
  13. It's been said that the yellow etrex has found more caches than any other gps ever. If you don't plan on doing any mapping on the unit itself it's a great unit for geocaching. It has a dataport also so you cna upload many waypoints to it rather than hand typing them all in. I used the yellow for a couple of years til it got stolen. I'm now going to get a garmin map60c because we want the colorscreen adn mapping features.
  14. If Garmin had come in at a lower bid they would have been using a Garmin in the commercial...
  15. Doggy douche? Get out!! I guess it could work thou... LOL. I though the same thing at first! I was just piggybacking on what TresOkies++ said in the post above mine. Makes sence thou if you take the 'acidic breakign down the oils' angle.
  16. I don't read today's cacher, I'm just now starting to get back into caching... With that being said isn't there a way you can make contact with him, perhaps a PM or a direct email without going directly to the public forums? Here's a link that may have been more suited rather than posting here. Edit: Found the link on the TC webiste to submit comments to Jerry...
  17. febreeze? Seriously though, with the massengil and tomato solutions the common thread here is they are both acidic. Tomatos are acidic by nature and the douche is vinegar. Dont' know if that helps but I'd venture the acidic nature of the liquids eat away the oils. Same prinicpal as drinking orange juice if you eat a hot pepper. The hot oil coats your tounge adn the citric acid in the juice will break it up.
  18. When a pocket query is created you can choose a state, zipcode, waypoint, or coordinate. If you wanted to use your home coordinate would it be possible to add a selection there for 'home coordinate' and it'd automatically use your home numbers rather than typing them in?
  19. If it were up to a vote I'd definately vote no on the graphic. The use of trademarks would be in poor taste in my opinion. I'm not even sure how I feel about listing them by name in the discription. It's almost like it's a virtual cache but with a traditional container type cache at the location.... Actually maybe a virtual cache with the coordinate of the pressure cooker would be better, verify it was done by getting some sort of info from the location or a picture of the cooker with teh gps in the frame. I don't know, /shrug.
  20. I'll log in with my file server/backup server PC that stays on in the basement 24/7. Tonght when I get home I'll get it set up for this.
  21. There will always be those who take things too seriously. I used to play a game called Everquest. To some people it was their life and would seem to argue to the death things that just didn't matter....it was just electricity and pixles on a screen a game. Same thing here, it's just an activity; something to do, and this forum is where people that share the joy in this activity can come together to talk about it. I could give a rats butt about media coverage, who is bias to what website or piece of gear. I just like coming here to read others' adventures and hopefully contribute a little. Not to mention get the info for where the latest caches have been placed for me to find. Well with that being said, I need to get back to work.
  22. We like it alot. We've already been places that we probably wouldnt' have gone to otherwise. For us it's not so much finding the cache as much is it's the places wehre the caches are.
  23. I'm by no means an expert, but I'd venture to say no. I've always been under the impression that a travel bug should be carried from cache to cache by hand with the person who removed it from the previous cache. Just my opionin though. I'm not sure if it's stated specifically somewhere though. Lets see what others think.

    Format

All three of the numbers listed below should be the same geographic location, just in different formats. To put it simply, yes, both of the numbers you listed are the same. DMS 121°29'21.19" MinDec 121°29.3532 DegDec 121.48922
  25. At the bottom of the screen when you click the 'submit information' buton the query is created. By clicking that submit info your criteria is sent to the server to create the query on the days that you selected at the top of the screen during when you chose all your options. Also after clicking the submit button there is a 'run query now' or something to that effect at the top. It sounds like you clicked this as well. The resultin page is just like all hte other cache search pages and the download based on you checkmark will be a .loc file. Your pocket query WILL come to you as well, on the day you checkmarked during the creation process in the format(s) you chose. Be patient grasshoppa. The query should be in your mail on the day you specified.
