  1. I've clicked on a couple of topics recently to ignore them but they keep coming back when I refresh the page. Is the srcipt not working? Older topics I've put on ignore are all ok.
  2. Just yesterday I cycled a 30 mile round trip just to find two caches. It was well worth it too. Saved petrol, got fitter, burnt calories, enjoyed the outdoors We don't have a good public transport system in our village so I often cycle 6 miles to the train station and hop on the train with my bike to go caching.
  3. Write and Mane are Welsh Cachers with a Welsh Flag travel bug. Why not try them?
  4. Sadly it looks like we can't make it after all. I'd totally forgotten I'd promised to look after a neighbours dog for two weeks and thats the day Tilly is arriving to stay with us for her holiday. Have a great time everyone anyway
  5. We can hardly move through our hallway for camping equipment. Can't wait now to finish work and get it packed up ready for the off this afternoon. Looking at the weather forecast I don't think it's going to be as bad as they originally said and I have noticed in the past that the weather people are usually pessimistic before a bank holiday weekend. The worst day looks like Sunday but hopefully that'll mean more mud So if anyones umming and aaahing over coming just due to the weather then don't fret just make that decision to come along.
  6. I'm not sure Janice. You're a bit out of our way. Seriously though, no problem at all. Excellent. Thanks Pete
  7. Mr F.B's off on a sailing trip that weekend but I'm free. If anyones passing this direction could I car share please.
  8. Everyones already said what we want to say. Have a great life both.
  9. Excellent. It's all working now. I've really missed this script. Thanks so much for working to get it up and running again.
  10. Our favourite cache would take you on a route to the South East and East of Pen-y-fan this is "Alien Encounter - GCGX7Q". This could be included on a route with "Pip's Falls (GC111ZP)", "BBC3 The Tiled Stream (GC17F7P)", A Canadian Memory (GCX006) and possibly BBC7 The Diving Board (GC181H2) along with pen y fantastic (The Beacon) (GC5250), Tommy Jones (GCGJHW) and finally BBC6 Ice and Fire (GC181C1). This would make a full day's caching if your fit enough for it Although we haven't found the caches around and to the North of Ystradfellte we can recommend this area for walking as it's much quieter than the Pen-y-fan area.
  11. Wow!!! We were the last ones to find this cache whilst on holiday in the Gower. The weekend we left there'd been terrible gales forecast and rough sea's. When we left the cache you would hardly believe that it would ever get dislodged being quite high up. Amazed we are. Glad it was found safe and sound.
  12. We've borrowed a Garmin iQue M4 for the weekend as we were having no luck with the Wherigo player recognising the GPS on our Medion 150 . We found we had the exact same problems as "Spyder_Cacher" with the tutorial locking up constantly and having to do a soft reset each time to get a bit further. Eventually we gave up with the tutorial and tried playing two other play anywhere cartridges. The "Easter Egg Hunt" and "Las Vegas Mystery". Both played without a hitch and we completed them easily. Went back to try the tutorial and it was still locking up. There must be a bug with it somewhere.
  13. I've been watching this thread with great interest because I was thinking of purchasing the MIO 550. We've been having problems getting the Wherigo player to work on our Medion 150 so we thought it was time for an upgrade. It'll be interesting to see how things turn out for you ChaoticaUK We're holding off buying anything now until a few more problems are solved. Hope you get it sorted so we can learn from you
  14. We've managed to get the player loaded onto our Medion 150 but can't seem to get it to recognise the GPS. Other programs such as Beeline we've had no problems with. Does anyone else have a Medion 150 and have they managed to get things running ok. What is the baud rate that it should be set at?
  15. We're using a Medion 150 but having problems getting the player to recognise the GPS. Does anyone know the baud rate to use? Did you do anything extra to get yours workin pasy?
  16. Whitemead and Bracelands are pretty big, but there are no pub/disco campsite anywhere in the area to my knowledge, as most people come here to go walking/Symonds Yat Rock/Tintern Abbey. Hopefully geocaching will show you a little bit more. Most of the smaller sites won't have showers, but if you were prepared to sacrifice that I would recommend Cherry Orchard Farm, Newland. Lovely 12th Century pub near enough to walk to and you could even take in one or two of our caches on the way. Haven't stayed in any of the campsites in the Forest of Dean as we live here but we'll second Cherry Orchard Farm Camp Site as it is quiet, there is a nearby pub, caches by SidAndBob within walking distance and caches by us not too far away. It's one of those lovely undiscovered bits on the edge of the Forest of Dean that you wouldn't automatically go to if it weren't for geocaching. If you didn't want a camp site that was quite as basic then either Bracelands or Whitemead would be good.
  17. Ok Problem Sorted By the time I got back from work Mr F.B had been busy sorting out the problem. It's seems I'd downloaded the Compact Framework for Service Pack 1 when I should have downloaded the one for Service Pack 2. Once that was done the player and games loaded without problem. If any one else is having the same problems I got it from here Compact Framework for Service Pack 2 Haven't yet tried out the tutorial as my brain hurts from trying to understand it all but hopefully things will be a bit straightforward from now on

  19. Thanks for the reply Ranger Fox. I'll read it more thoroughly later and see if we haven't missed something.
  20. We have a Medion MD 150 with Windows OS and enough memory. We've also downloaded the Player, Builder and .NET thingy but can't seem to get anything loaded onto the PDA. Is it the PDA that is the problem? What do we do? Can we have an idiots guide written please. There's a Wherigo been published very close to us and ww know of someone in the process of building another. It's getting very frustrating as we're so looking forward to getting involved. Please please help.
  21. Could anyone please write an "Idiots Guide" to just getting the player intalled on our Medion MD 150 We've downloaded everything needed, the "builder", "player" and "Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 2.0" but we're getting very frustrated at not even being able to try out the tutorial.
  22. Sounds like great fun but will the software be available for "Palm" users in the future? I have posted the same question on the "where I go" forum topic for questions.
