Having recently passed the 900 mark I am on the look out for a 'special' cache for my 1000th find. Any suggestions? As a note I prefer caches with good walks or scenery or unusual caches like Alpha Quest - Y which I reached my 900 on. Not too keen on mystery caches as don't have too much patience for them. Don't mind travelling so an overnight stay would be alright. Thanks in advance, Pete

Most Embarrasing Injury While Caching?
plymplodders replied to tonycollins's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I managed to get a puncture wound with blood while waiting for the ferry to last years Lundy event. Hopped over a spiked fence to fetch the kids but slipped with the spike between my legs . A strategically placed plaster sorted it though. Pete -

I must have been madder for driving him there. -
Reached my 900 today while Mike of Molinnis Crew reached 600, both at Alpha Quest - Y, the famous railway tunnel. Ended the day with 14 so a good new year for us. Pete

Congratulations to Mike on reaching 600 today as I reached 900 at Alpha Quest - Y. Well done Mike, a great day.

Congratulations to my son PlymAdam for reaching 300 caches today on Dartmoor. Not bad for a 9 year old.

I personally don't use my letterbox stamp as geocaching is not letterboxing. If there's one thing I hate its calling cards in caches & stamps that go right through the page of the book rendering the other side useless. There, thats my moan for the day out of the way Pete

I've managed 11 off that list & also two are mine. Pete

I use a yellow Etrex a lot & it works very well. I download all the co-ords from GSAK straight to the Etrex from PC, easily done. Pete

Well done Terry.

I think its definitely fine to phone a friend. Being a South West cacher, nearly every other new cache that comes out now seems to have some sort of brainwork needed to find it so having mates to help is imperative. After all isn't caching about going out & finding it?????

Best Or Strangest Thing Found In A Cache
plymplodders replied to Top Cat & Co's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Not sure if its interesting or strange but I found a Durex condom in a cache. I declined to take it & nobody else has logged taking it so would be interested if its still in the cache. Pete -
I will be there on the Friday evening, probably set a new cache too, Pete

Unlucky chaps but I think the right decision has been made, that weather wasn't very kind to you. See you soon, Pete

I'm glad I turned down Dave's offer of joining them now. My excuse was that I couldn't get the time off work but I like to think its being sensible. Keep it going you three!!! Pete
