  1. Yea, it's the agenda part some aren't quite clear on

    Geo Coins

I have done this using a little humor, saying I'm a doting father just checking on his kids to see if they are ok. It's also possible they have forgotten they have the bug. I'm guilty of this. Since the trackables are listed at the bottom of the account page, they are easily missed. They should be up top blinking when we've had them longer than 2 weeks.
  3. Most of my caches are puzzles. I would be happy to hear someone took the time to solve my puzzle. But, don't be surprised if you get emails from locals asking for hints
  4. Spinner and Plucker are free and work very well.
  5. I'll try that. I set mine at 3 because the tutorial I read when I started using it said to. Maybe I just need to go deeper
  6. If you're reading this, thank a teacher. If you're reading this in English, thank a soldier.
  7. As a vet, I'll just say I've never considered any tribute, regardless of its form, to be lame. It will be interesting to see how this turns out.
  8. I would suggest rereading the hint that he gave you. As a puzzle hider, I would not want others to give hints for my caches, so that's the only advice I can give you

    Wish list.

You could mark them as missing
  10. In the Plucker Desktop: Options Set default configuration for new channels Images Tab Check the box for "Include Images" That will get the images that show on the cache page, but images like on this cache that are just below the map will not show on the palm.
  11. I have a bookmark list of the caches I DNFd to let me know the ones I need to get back to. I don't wait til someone else found it, tho. I DNFd a cache two days in a row, and the owner went to check on it and found it missing. Made me feel better knowing it wasn't me I have gone back to the area once, but the muggles have chased me away so I haven't searched. DNFs can help the owner, but they need to be taken with a grain of salt. I doubt anyone is "expert" enough that they only DNF on caches that are missing.
  12. Yes you can. Just post a note on the cache using the date of your find explaining what you are doing and that you will delete the note. The delete option shows up immediately after posting the note and selecting delete option will not affect the bug tracking. Warning- back-logging and logging a personal TB through every cache can be very tedious. Thanks. This answers my question also. With less than 200 finds it shouldn't take too long (crosses fingers)
  13. If you want found and unfound in the same query, check neither, because if you check both, it will give you nothing, since there are no caches that you have both found and not found.

    Slow GPX

Thanks. I just thought it curious because the 1st, 2nd and 5th gpx came out fine, but 3rd and 4th did not, and they were both very new caches. I has also noticed the entire site has been pretty sluggish the last few days.

    Slow GPX

I found 5 caches this morning, and downloaded the individual gpx files for gsak. When opening them in gsak, three show as found, but two do not. These two are new caches, listed just yesterday. My find log is there, my find count on the site is right, but the gpx file doesn't show that I fond them. Is there a lag on new caches?
  16. That part of OpinioNate's quote could be used in many threads.
  17. One thing to consider is images. Looking at the screen shots of Cachemate, it seems to be text based, so I'm not sure it handles images, which can be important for some caches. Here are some screen shots of one of my caches that have images on the cache page and are needed to find the cache. The image resizes to fit the screen, but if you tap it, it zooms in for a closer look.
  18. I have thought of this as well, I think the "teams" idea would be great for multiple owners on a single hide. If two people hide the cache, and only one gets credit for the hide, the other would not want to mark it as found since they helped hide it. It would continue to be in their filtered nearest unfound list and in their pq's for unfound caches. Ignoring it would mean they couldn't get emails when it is logged, which they might like to keep track of. I'm not sure if it's possible to ignore and watch the same cache Having an extra team account would mean both would deal with it as an unfound cache.
  19. First, you'll want the gpx files instead of the loc files. The Palm will need something to read the file once you upload it. Cashmate is popular but it costs. I use Spinner and Plucker on my Z71. You'll need the plucker desktop and the application on your pda card to read the file once you hotsync it. I like this method because it loads any pictures from the cache page in very good quality. Some are needed in the search.
  20. I saw one of those bug decals with the tracking number in the back window of a car the other day. I'm not into discovery logs, so I called a tow truck.
  21. You sound like me. I'm coming up on 6 years and still haven't broken 200 finds. I have as much fun now as I did on day one. I'm in no race and have yet to be burnt out by a specific type of hide. The feeling I get when I spot the container is still a rush. I have yet to consider any part of this hobby a waste of my time. And I don't have to drive very far for an unfound cache
  22. Paying members don't get access before non-paying menbers; we just get told about them. They're still there for everyone to see at the same time.
  23. Why not just click on the link to the cache page and check this info out?
