  1. Okay how about $200. I can also load maps of your desired area from Mapsource 6.9.1
  2. It depends on what features you want. The Vista is black and white, the vista c is color (I assume you know that) Both have back light and can be seen in the dark so the answer would lie in mapping, preference on color and pc hook up. As far as mapping goes the C will take City select which has auto routing, meaning you put in the address and it will give you turn by turn directions. The Vista does not do this. As far as Pc hook up the C is USB and the Vista is serial so if you don’t have a serial port you need a serial to usb adapter. More $$ In my opinion go with the C. Or check out the new Vista CSX which has a removable memory card. However the C will hold a lot of data as is and is cheaper.
  3. I can see I did not explain this properly, what I was referring to is when you are on the my accounts page and click on the map it button. When you see the cache’s you want click the identify button which will show the cache names. Now from here you can select the caches by checking the box next to the cache name. Now at the bottom of the screen you can download them all at once but can only download .loc files. You can click on each cache individually and get gpx which is a little more time consuming. Thanks to Quiggle for the support, as for Night Stalker and Team Dubbin if all you are going to be is sarcastic then just log off.
  4. Guess you need to read below my name where it says "Premium Member"
  5. I would like to see a button at the bottom of the search page for downloading the gpx files also. I only see the one for loc files. Any thoughts on this?
  6. But it is about software - Cachemate. Not sure how experienced of an eBayer you are (I've only bought 2 things there), but I wouldn't have my heart set on getting that VIIx NIB for $20. I made a bid on like 5 IIIxe units before finally winning one for $10.50. Pure luck that I got it that cheap, as most of the IIIxes eventually went for $25-40, when the most I wanted to spend was $20. I was about to give up on the eBay route when I won the auction. BTW, I went out paperless for the first time this weekend, and the Cachemate/GSAK combo is great. It was unexpectedly easy. Bring the GPX file into GSAK, export to Cachemate PDB, hit the hotsync button on the PDA's cradle, and I was good to go. I Have also used Gsak to to export all those caches into a garmin file which can then be opened in Mapsource or city select and dump all cords at one time into my gps. Really cool program, saves alot of time.
  7. I have purchased a new unit and now have my Vista for sale. Still works great and has several accessories that come with it such as, Cigarette lighter power adapter, a case with a belt clip, The pc cable for serial port and the adapter to convert serial to USB (if your computer does not have a serial port). Unit is in excellent condition and can email a photo the unit necessary. Asking $225

  9. I am looking for someone willing to place a travel bug in Arizona. I am in Minnesota and have family coming for the holidays and would send the TB home with them (they are not geocachers) for the drop off. They live in Fountain Hills. The TB’s journey consists of getting to Florida but I figure if he can get somewhere warm it would be a plus. Please feel free to e-mail me at goldmember@creditriverkennels.com
