  1. Never in a million years would I have thought the slick new app wouldn't have cache notes. I put all my hints to remember for solved puzzle caches in there, and I went out to get them only to find NOTHING!! Gotta get that feature in the app...
  2. FWIW, I just did 6 in a row and had no trouble. v5.7 iOS 10.3.3 iPhone 7 I didn't know this was a feature, so that's a win for me!
  3. I 'third' the comments above regarding jumping kml vs. entering actual coordinates. I've done a ton of caches on GE (before I had a GPS unit) and have found it to be, as they say, "dead-on balls accurate" (apologies to Marissa Tomei). The satellite imagery can be a little off, as we've seen, but most of the stuff around here has good data, so it helps. I'm betting the roads are more accurate than the pictures, too...
  4. I just got my first GPS unit, and have found about a dozen caches without it. Google earth is kind of a fun way to find them. If you put in the actual coordinates, they don't move around like the plugin does, and you can find landmarks to get bearings on from the satellite view. Didn't help in Central park, but I made a micraculous find there.... Should be easier now!
  5. it's easy to overthink. I always start with "where would I hide a cache?"
  6. I just got the same unit for my birffday!! ...and I had the same question. I'm assuming you gotta drop the $75 bones for the maps. ....which raises another question: what's the best maps to download, and what's the cheapest/bang-for-buck?
