  1. Are there any magazines available on the newstands or by subscription that deal with geocaching ? Occassionally I will come across an article in some paper or other which usually sensationalizes the sport/hobby . It seems all other liesure time pursuits have something in print so , how about us ? (Acknowledging of course this great website but it is hard to put in your pack and take with you). papa & the bears
  2. Glad to see this topic . We too will be winter caching . Nothing beats a winter campfire cook out.Easy to pull a toboggan fot the little ones when they get tired of ploughing through the snow. Snowshoes are a great addition to one's equipment . I prefer "bear paws" for the woods . papa & the bears
  3. The person who did this is both unethical and dishonest . Hope his teacher , prof. or whatever finds out and deals with him / her accordingly . How would you like to be dependent on such a person for accurate information in a serious situation ? papa & the bears
  4. I purchased a Kodak DX3900 ten months ago . I have taken in excess of 1800 photos with it which i download to CDRs .I purchased the camera dock later which facilitates the copying process . The prints are excellent (8x10 are the largest I have done). The camera contains a rechargeable battery , can use AA batteries or a CRV3 which comes with it .I have also purchased an additional memory card which gives me 65+/- picture capacity . Canmera has lots of features , easy to use , light and compact . my wife and grandkids also are quite comfortable using it and the kids are age 5 & 7 . papa & the bear ;

  6. Is there a CDROM or site where one can download good Ontario maps for geocaching ? Will joining Groundspeak give me any better access to Onatrio maps ? What alternatives are other people using ? Thanks - papa & the bears

  8. I agree with most of what has been said . Geocaching is an adventure for the child in us and relatively safe . There is an element of mystery with the message in code . There is a skill element that can be mastered without being a rocket scientist and so we satisfy our egos . It provides good exercise at a level one is comfortable with and most of all , it is FUN !
  9. I am sure that I saw a cache posted not too long ago that was easily accessable for kids and was located east of Casino Rama , probably along Hwy.45 and approx . L&L of 44 / 79 . I can't find it on the Hide and Seek list . Can anyone help ? You can e-mail me at cleg.mac@sympatico.ca .Thanks egm

Thanks - egm
