  1. I had such a great time last week, I wanna give it another go this time too...
  2. ok, now I feel like an idiot, but is there a way to add imagery to a forum post while simply adding a reply? all I see is a clickable "insert image" which asks for a URL for my image, which, don't exist cuz I haven't put them anywhere... what am I missing here? I don't see an 'attach file' link anywhere and to keep this ON topic...I have more pictures from Sunday that I'd like to share... Mike nevermind...I gotta set up hosting somewhere....or just re-size all the pics & dump them on my site....
  3. To my new friends the Sunrise Caching Hiking Group (of Doooooom)... thanks for a great time today! and thanks to Packanack for arranging everything, even if you DIDN'T meet us at Sloan with box 'o joe.... looking forward to the next one... Mike
  4. Methinks I would like to join you guys as well....0715 at the parking coords? frelancr
  5. I use a Palm Treo 700 by Verizon. Geocaching works just fine on my web browser as well. I do believe that the iPhone should most definitely happen. Afterall, one of the sales pitches for the iPhone was to be able to use the full version of the web, not the scaled down version. I say try it and go from there. I do the website from my iPhone as well, but hanging off the side of a hill with 2 bars does not make for the bestest browsing experience.... as a quick, almost there, sorta-kinda temp solution, look at the PQ Viewer from the friendly folks who gave us Mac Caching
  6. ...an iPhone once the API is released in the spring?
  7. Is there a way to set up a poll on this forum to gauge a quick, un-scientific snapshot of the percentage of people who would me more apt to get this unit if it HAD native Mac support? frelancr

  9. what would really sell ME on one is SOME attempt for NATIVE Mac support...in looking here and on Delorme's own forums, all the responses from acknowledged Delorme reps is more of the sad "there's not enough demand/users/Macs/whatever" excuses... I do NOT want to do a virtual machine on my Mac, I do not want ANYTHING to do with windows, and my eXplorist is starting t show its age. While the PN-20 do look really cool in some regards, Delorme's attitude to my segment of computer users really puts me off. The stories I hear about their amazing customer service makes this attitude all the more puzzling to me, but oh well, I guess they don't want or need my business, or that of the other Mac-heads out there... they could at least TRY...and no, emulation do not count....
  10. how about a rechargeable 9v to accept a trickle charge during the day & still xmit at nite? either way, please post when you get this up...I'd be all over it! frelancr

  12. Are You Crazy? by dhenning25 (GCN8EC) Devil's Hole by Bluehook (GCGY04) even though 'crazy' drove me nuts with the puzzle AND the find, actually finding it was VERY satisfying....the hole weren't too bad a puzzle, made for a really nice jaunt, but finding the actual cache took 3 trips to the GZ (which wasn't TOO bad considering it's so close to me)....but again, finding the box made for much self-back-slapping...both times many curses were leveled upon the hiders and other nasty thing said about them once the caches were found...but at least I was smiling when I said it.... I love anything that brings me to a place with neat natural attractions...combine that with stuff of historical signifigance and I'm a happy cacher!
  13. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.js...60606060606:1:A not a bad deal...great price for a starter unit.... ....ooooh color...and a memory card too! wish this was out in December... M
  14. there is NOTHING that you can walk to from EWR (besides maybe the Mariott or whatever hotel is on-site) it basically lives in the midst of a spaghetti bowl of highways.... there's some direct commuter trains to there (I think) that might get you close.... bring a book & a laptop with wifi Mike
  15. why not? and what cacher doesn;t have a spare pair of AAs with them at all times?
  16. thankyouverymuch....you now owe me a new keyboard & monitor (having spit out my drink laughing...) so basically, EVERYONE cachterbates, the question, who will admit it? and do it cause hairy palms & blindness?
  17. nothing so fancy...almost any Palm-powered device and even some (shudder) Windows CC/PocketPC thingys can run software databases akin to GSAK so you can have a whole pocket query in yer, um, pocket I run it on my Palm Treo, which, since it's also my phone, is always with me....great resource... pick up a older Palm on eBay for <$20, download cachemate & have at it! search teh forums for threads on 'paperless caching' for more info...there's also a great tutorial at geocachingu.com

    Booted!

SOME times, when I click on a link from a GC email about a thread I've subscribed to, when Mail.app calls to Safari to load the page, Safari will crash...can't replicate it with any reliability, nor do I know what I'm doing at the time that would cause this.... hasn't happened for a coule days though...and only when loading from Mail, hasn't happpened if I just type in the URL.....
  19. joy and happiness in Mac-land with both Safari & Firefox....whatever you did, it works...thanks!
  20. man, I HATE this! I SWEAR I tried every browser on my machine when this came out and none worked...now Firefox 1.5.0.3 seems happy....this on a machine running 10.4.3 strange though, I saw other usuers commenting on the showing of other cahces in the area on the embedded GE maps...I can only see the cache listed on the map... still wish it worked in Safari...wonder why one & not the other?
  21. how have you found this to work with firefox? I tried it, netscrape & IE and nothing seemed to work on my Mac...
  22. tried it with Safari, Firefox, Netscape & even my old IE...nuttun' hunny on my Powerbook.... ugh....what's the problem here? anyone care to 'splain it using small words? Isn't this just a JavaScript thing? or is it a wacky GoogleEarth thing when GE gets embedded in another page?
  23. good history to be found here http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/INFO/NGShistory.shtml
