  1. How would they find the caches? I think they'd have to visit our website and head out with their GPS's, right? That would be interesting to see as it is. Maybe I could get them to locate a certain No Find I've been looking for for awhile. Oh well...I'm sure the powers that be will clear things up. In the meantime, I'm gonna grab all the SGL caches I can find. Until next time... Trusty
  2. I just caught this thread, as I haven't looked at the forums for a while. I love the idea of using gc.com as a dating service. Where else would you find someone who doesn't get that glazed-over look when you're 20 minutes into describing your latest caching adventure? LOL I'd throw my hat into the ring as a geo-stud, but I had to go find someone not into geo-caching, introduce them to the sport, then chain them to my 4X4 to get them to come with me. So far, one cache in the pouring rain hasn't turned her off...we might have some potential here!! Until next time... Trusty
  3. I'm in NEPA, but would gladly drive to wherever for a great group hike. Can someone e-mail me when there's something going on? I need at least a week's notice to arrange for a sitter for Quinn.
  4. Hey Rich, While I may not think of you every day (hehehe) I do appreciate all of your efforts in making geo-caching a great sport for us all to enjoy. Thinking that I might actually beat you to a cache, not that it's ever happened, does add a thrill to those late-night checks of the site for new caches. It's always great to see you on the trails!!! Hats off to you and I hope for more First Finds in the future for you!!! Until then... Trusty
  5. Congrats U2 on a job well done!!! I hope you enjoy the next 100 as well as the first!!! Until next time... Trusty
  6. Yes, I'll most likely lose this one too somewhere out there. Luckily, I have found a great place to buy another one cheap. I will definitely have a great first finder prize though... Until Then... Trusty
  7. Hey all...I have an idea for an event cache for paint-ballers/cachers. I have found the perfect urban paintball area and am thinking of developing a special event cache where we either make teams and play take the flag/cache...or we have a free-for-all where the last man (woman) standing takes the first finder prize. Would anyone be interested?
  8. I can't believe it!!! I've lost another GPS! This time, I had it on my dash and someone stole it while I was at the store. Anyone have an old, cheap GPS they wanna get rid of? Trusty
  9. WooooooooooHoooooooooo!!!!! Thanks! What an awesome world we live in...and no better way to see it than with a GPS in our hand!! Until next time... Trusty
  10. I don't know who it is, but they denied a virtual for me. Can't say I'm pleased with the reason, but what can ya do? Maybe if I moved to Jersey, it would help? Hmmmmmmmm.... Trusty
  11. I lost a Legend last summer. Left it on the roof of the Rodeo and pulled off. I didn't realize it was gone for about a mile down the road. Would you believe they didn't shut down Geo-caching until I could get a new one? }:-P Until next time... Trusty
  12. Had to move my site to #35...a little closer to the group!! I make a killer cheesecake...most anything else you could request can be made...just let me know. Trusty
  13. Yep, that's me...the point man!!! Can't wait to see you all there! Until then... Trusty
  14. Many times at my cache (Mullen's View) I have seen some awesome animals. I once was sitting at the top of a ridge and a hawk landed in a dead tree not 20 feet in front of me. When I looked up, it took off. The sight was awesome. I also saw a buck, had to be at least 14 points, about 10 feet in front of me and my daughter, who was in a sling on my chest. She said, "Wow!" and he bounded off into the woods. Lizards and snakes abound in many of the caches I've visited. I actually had a 7-8ft long black snake chase me. OK, I pulled it's tail, so I'm sure it had good reason. I'm not the croc hunter!! The one animal I'm dying to see is a bear. I've visited a few caches after a bear sighting and still haven't seen one out on a cache hunt. Guess that'll have to wait til spring now. Well, that's my tail...err tale. Until next time... Trusty
  15. Obviously not a pro, am I? LOL Until next time... Trusty
  16. I have just broken my 2nd Etrex. The one I have now is a venture. What's yours?
  17. I've sent out e-mails to the 1st three people to reply and have gotten one response. We need to get a meeting together and discuss the possibilities. Any ideas?
  18. There's a certain cache in NEPA where you might find my first GPS. I left it on the roof of my Rodeo and drove off without it!!! By the time I was a mile down the road and realized I didn't have it any more, it was long gone...never to be seen again. So...keep your eyes open while you're out, you never know what you might find!!! Until next time... Trusty
  19. I have to say, finding a cache normally is a challenge for me, but under a couple feet of snow is the ultimate!!! Being from NC, I don't have much opportunity for this kind of hunt, so it's appreciated. I love the "yellow snow" idea...though, would that really stop me? LOL Anyway, I usually find that I mess the whole area up that there's no telling where it is when I'm done. Heck, I probably couldn't go back and find it!! Until next time... Trusty P.S. Aren't lizards cold blooded? What am I doing out in the snow?
  20. Hello all!!! It's been a while since I've been on the forum, but I'm back!!! I'm interested in getting together an NEPA caching club, of sorts. If you're interested, please shoot me an e-mail...or post a poll here. Until next time... Trusty
  21. Wow!!! Congrats U2!!! I can't wait to get to that mark. Maybe now you'll slow down so I can get a first find or two? LOL Probably not...but congrats anyway!! Trusty
  22. Hmmmmm...I just happen to be staying in Philly starting on the 1st. I might not have to get up at 3:30 to beat Rich and Zhanna! Trusty
  23. I too have been out of work...since May. I love this sport so much that I've actually gotten a job that I can geo-cache with, when I start. I'm starting the new job in Sept, going to Philly for a month, and I have just downloaded a few caches in Philly to do while I'm there. I also always have my caching bag with me and my gps, so no matter where I am, I can look up a waypoint and hunt a cache. Good luck to you with your continued hunting and I hope to see you on the trails... Trusty
  24. I'm ready...I've been thinking of going to Hickory Run and camping out for a night. There are about 5 or 6 caches in that area and I'd like to take two days to do them all. I did this at Ricket's Glen and it was a great time. Anyone else interested?
  25. Hey all!!! I'm still new to the sport and am looking for a hiking partner or for a team to join. I'm extremely addicted to the sport, but it would be nice to have some company every now and then. Trusty
