  1. About a month ago out of the blue my husband (Pilgrims Progress) told me that he was glad I started Geocaching. After asking him why he said that he was worried that I was starting to fall into the same habits of my mom and sister who are shut in, world of warcraft addicts. Although I myself never got into that kind of game I was spending a lot of time at home away from the outside world. After being introduced to geocaching by my good friends the BabyBackPackpackers there is rarely a week that I don't go SOMEWHERE. So Geocaching was the answer given to my husbands prayer about me getting a hobby and out of the house! But unfortunately for him I now offer that as my excuse about not having dinner ready, or the dishes done, etc. After all it was all HIS idea for me to not be home!!
  2. Do they have the "right" to delete the log? That's very much debatable, but they certainly have the ability to delete a log for whatever reason they choose. IMHO logging requirements should be suggestions and not mandates. Yes the owner does have the ability to delete my log but should they? It seems that additional logging requirements are a variation of a virtual cache. You have to do something in order to log the cache. A Virtual cache you need to find a piece of information, take a picture etc. in order to log. A true traditional cache is a conatiner with a log book that you can simply find using your GPS, sign the logbook and then log online on GC.com.
  3. In our area we have some caches that ask you to log your finds in a specific manner. One asks that you log in Haiku form and another asking you to tell a tall tale. The owners of these caches are fun easygoing cachers, but for the sake of discussion lets say after I used my GPS, found the traditional cache, signed the log and replaced the cache EXACTLY where it was found would the owners be in the "right" to delete my log and declare that I did not find the cache if I did not follow the logging requirement?
  4. Read my log here. The cache was on the end of a dock under a bench. We waited out the muggles but these two just wouldn't leave. So I had to play the role of "that weird person".
  5. Yes! Minnesota Cuke has an easter egg "Tim takes us Geocaching" If you go to the “Family Fun” domain, click left from “Catacombs Game”. When you hit enter, you’ll see Tim go geocaching in an 88-second snippet.
  6. I've been JEEPED!! I got mine in the mail today!! It's so shiny!!
  7. When I first being introduced to geocaching by my friend, he told me that when my gps says I have 40 feet left to go to start looking for signs of caching: Geowood, large stump that could hold an ammo can, geotrails, etc. Following this advice I have been able to find caches that have left some other cachers stumped. You are the search engine!
  8. This place has a pool, but there high speed internet is hardwired. It is the newest hotel in the Smokey Point Marysville area. http://www.hawthorninn.com/reservations/lo....asp?facid=2219
  9. When I cache with my good friends the BabyBackPackers there are a total of 6 children ages 6 and under and 1 ten year old. The best advice is buy a portable DVD player. Turn it down low so they can hear it but have to be on the quiet side to do so. The kids don't even notice the stop and go of caching. And never be above bribing the kids with good snacks.
  10. Congrats BabyBackPackers for getting a FTF for their 900th find at Cache Splash-Let's Get Physical GCWV2C
  11. This program is great!! I can tell you put a lot of hard work into this. How can you change the colors??
  12. I am still investigating Waymarking and I am confused about some of the guidelines. Can I have a Waymark close to a cache I own and advertise either of them on the opposites posting?? Example I own a cache at a park can I also own a waymark for the outdoor basketball hoops/public play area. Do I have to chose which of the waymarks to use or can I use both?? Edit: for clarity (hopefully)
