  1. I couldn't find any in the area,is there a reason for this?
  2. I think a hint should be a helpful clue to make you stop and think as to where the cache may be.Not a total give away.I always check the hint after 10 minutes or so of looking. The hint can give you reassurance that you are in the right area,as GPS readings are not always spot on.Doesn't it feel better if you need to hunt the cache as opposed to walking right up to it?
  3. Agreed.I can't wait for my new bins to arrive, although now I think about it...maybe we Geocachers would be better off with equipment that can see things(caches) from close range not long range.I doubt I'll find a cache with bins from 100 yards.
  4. Does it have to be in an Asian run miscellaneous emporium shop? Or do other non ethnic shops sell them? Bit of a racist comment when you read into it, don't you think? I think Haggis Hunter is totally wrong with his comment. How can a fact be a racist comment. 100% of "£" type shops are Asian owned. How can calling a shop Asian owned be racist. Get real with the real world mate. Dare I mention Scottish owned shops in Edingburgh. Currykev
  5. Spot on.Another pair bought,as the £5 garage bins don't really cut the mustard.
  6. Hand is still stinging 2 hours later.Grrr.
  7. If you have a silver left for sale I'd like to buy one.
  8. Reply from "cache test dummies"is the rule I would follow. Some of my hides have spoilers, some not.I have advised this in my description of the caches. Simple!
  9. Thanks for the info.I guess I can use GPS in British Grid mode to check location on Multimap, then I can change GPS to Decimal Degrees to add the coordinates to Geocache.com.Cheers.
  10. This is probably a basic question really. But I'm confused. My prefered method of checking coordinates is the British Grid sytem (TQ00000000 etc.).I've just added my first waypoint on the Garmin Venture GPS which shows as N00:00.000 and W00:00.000. I can check British grid on Multimap and it works a treat, but Geocache does not accept this method for entering coordinates. And also, although Geocache can accept Decimal coordinates,I don't believe the Garmin GPS does. And I cannot seem to get a map position using the N00:00.000 and W00:00.000 method. So I just need the easiest way to check my GPS cordinates on a mapping website before adding to Geocache. I bet you're all confused now too.
  11. I'm a 3 week old newbie, but intend to find the TULUM cache and the one in Caye Caulker in a few weeks. If I don't find them then...hey!!
  12. Thanks for the answers...I'll do it by the book.Regards.
  13. Hi there, I'm trying to start my first VIRTUAL cache, but it doesn't seem to be listed on the form page.Any ideas. As you mjust be able to list on geocache.com as I have find some recently.
  14. Thanks,I've always had trouble with files and folders.I had to associate the FOUND box with the file name for my unzipped GPX file.. ie.. C:\DOCUME~1\Name\LOCALS~1\Temp\Temporary Directory 2 for 439686.zip\439686.gpx Are you advising to unzip the next GPX to a new desktop file?
  15. Am trying to get info from GSAK to my Palm 31. In GSAK have gone to..File>Export>Cachemate PDB file.I've named my file and tickeed the Install to Palm, but when I press the GENERATE button I get message..cannot create file that folder does not exist. Is it anything to do with the Select from Most Recent Box,that is empty. Please also note my GPX files in GSAK only contain the ones I've found so far..that another problem to be discussed later.
