I made the point of asking one of the on-line retailers about the Australian detail in the basemap, and they answered that it was the same software no matter where you bought the unit.

Along the same lines as this discussion - I'm looking for a Meridian. I intend to buy from the US, for cost reasons. I visited the safetracgps.com site (mentioned above) and found they only sell Garmin. I'm hoping to find someone as helpful who sells Magellan. Any experiences? What are we paying on import duties? Is it GST?

Thanks for the replies. - I Tried out EasyGPS - it doesn't have import capabilities. - ExpertGPS does, but it had problems converting the CSV file, and did not recognise the Lat/Long fields. Maybe the CSV fields are not in the right order? - I couldn't find GeoBuddy. - GPSU say that I can import direct from MapSource and then download to the Meridian. I haven't tried it yet.

Hello from Oz. I was the proud owner of a Garmin unit - until it was stolen. I am looking at replacing it with a Meridian. Some questions for the forum. 1.) Are the any special considerations when using a SD card NOT manufactured by Magellan? (eg: formatting, etc.) 2.) How do I get my waypoints stored in a Mapsource file into Mapsend or a Meridian? 3.) Is it possible to modify a Garmin GA26 antenna into a re-radiating antenna?
