  1. Thanks! My cousin will be there on his HD! Composing a question amidst the tension of the world cup..... looked like a try to me! Right - time for another cake themed quickie! What sort of cakes did Private Godfrey's sister like to bake?
  2. Harley Davidson's will be staging a takeover! The annual Hogging The Bridge event organised by the Bridgwater Chapter of the Harley Davidson Owner's Group.
  3. To quote from his profile page. "Jeremy is the President and Co-founder of Groundspeak, Inc., the company that owns and operates Geocaching.com. Jeremy lives in the Seattle, Washington Area (aka The Emerald City)." Oh I see! Thanks! .... tugs forelock, bows...
  4. Who will lead by example? ..... and who's Jeremy?
  5. I know of several cachers, prior to Aug, changing their username and relogging all their finds. I expect they have a valid reason but it seemed a tedious business to me.
  6. I wish someone would move my Wedding cake TB on from GCPQMN. It's been there for over 4 months. The owner said he'd move it on but hasn't yet. Frustrating!!
  7. Blimey, that was quick! DING DING DING I think a proper dessert roulade is flourless and butterless. It can also be savoury. In music it's a run of notes sung on one syllable. Well done JackieC
  8. Crikes- I'm a newbie at this....it'll have to be a question with a cake/ music theme..... I'm thinking Swiss roll type cake and a run of notes. Which word applies to both?
  9. Order sent ~ am extra pleased to have 2 contrasting coins to remind us of lots of trips on the Santa Special! Thanks Stuart
  10. We've got one-in Worcestershire! (Not one of mine.) I'm often amazed by people's clever ideas for cache containers especially the ones that are well crafted and merge into their surroundings.
  11. Had to look it up...now I see what you mean! Great idea, good luck.
  12. You can trace it back to its owner from the cache where you found it. Inform them and they can deal with it, eg by logging it into an archived cache.
  13. You have now and you might have done! I've noticed a deterioration in the standard of grammar and spelling too!
  14. It's £14.63 if you join on-line and pay by direct debit, plus you get a free pic-nic rug!!!!
  15. I tuned into Radio Lancashire (always a first time for everything) this morning and heard it. Well done to Citizen Smith who gave a good account of caching without making it sound weird and geeky! The sound quality wasn't too good. Nice to also see the new NW geocaching website- I wouldn't mind some of those stickers, but the NW wouldn't be right for a midlander!
  16. I'm hoping to turn up on Saturday- Being an event novice, what's the form re the barbie? Is there a charge or do folks take their own meat to cook on communal barbies?
  17. Thanks folks and .. Congratulations to the T-girls on all their outstanding achievements over this Summer including creating the Enigma Variation Series- a must do for all serious cachers, extreme event to St Kilda (am I jealous?- yes!), completing 1000 cache finds etc etc( look at their profile page for more!)
  18. It could well be trackable but not on geocaching.com. Many American states have their own caching site. Don't just keep it! Does it have any info on it stating where its from or info on how to log it? When I took the trouble to log just such a coin its owners were very grateful having assumed it was lost and I spent several weeks exchanging messages with them.
  19. Although this is probably aimed at cachers in general I can understand what may have happened based on my own experiences. 3 of mine needed to be replaced due to the flooding. I doubt if less excessive flooding would have affected them. I wouldn't choose locations that I thought were at risk. If other cache setters were in the same situatiuon as me it possibly didn't occur to them that their caches had been washed away! Indeed, at the time, we were more concerned in helping friends deal with flood damage. I didn't find out about the disappearance of mine until returning from my hols and so there was a delay in disabling then replacing them.
  20. A bit like Kewfriend- you make a mistake entering final co-ords for a multi but still end up on a footpath that seems reasonable! A bit like Foinavon- Tom Tom tells you that youv'e reached your destination on a motorway! But the other day in Cannock Chase, I got multiple stings on my rear end. Didn't know what could have got up my trousers so ripped them off and flung them about in an exagerated over zealous way- well I was in great pain and still am!!!! Turned out it was wasps!
  21. Isn't every day a peasant day?! Especially for us geo types?!
  22. Have sent mine in too. Will await feedback with interest.
