  1. Last time I cached in the rain, got my Mio ever so slightly wet, in spite of having it in a case and under plastic, ended up forking out £50 for a new screen!
  2. Ignore last post (you did, I hear you cry)! It's sorted.
  3. Help! I thought I'd made good progress for a techie weakling but.... I've updated to a newer version of Microsoft.NET, installed the Wherigo player, had a bit of a go with the tutorial (outside in the dark last night!) downloaded a cache cartridge BUT it doesn't appear on my Mio550, it comes up with a message that it 'cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of it's components cannot be found.' Any ideas?
  4. #3 Rodz Have never met him but recognise him from his profile page- how good is that?
  5. I can't log 2 or the geocoins that I found yesterday. It wasn't til I got home that I discovered that they weren't in the cache's inventories. They both have a tracking number and 'Trackable at Geocaching.com' printed on. What do I do with them now? Any ideas?
  6. It looks OK to me so long as the co-ords are accurate for the final. Am slightly puzzled as to why there are log books in the first stages and not just the final. (oops-don't know how the wrong avatar crept back!)
  7. Yeah- MANY CONGRATULATIONS WRIGHTY!! We're looking forward to finding them. Surprised Enery hasn't bagged 'em today!
  8. I'm no expert either, but you can click on 'Preview' then select Excel, Word....
  9. I love doing puzzle caches, I like the challenge. I've struggled with loads, revisited them and either given up or got that Eureka moment when the solution or method becomes obvious. The caches that have given me most satisfaction upon completion have been puzzle caches. I've got a few worked out and looking forward to going out and finding them one day soon. I don't think it matters if some are visited infrequently. A few delighted logs is better than loads of so so comments IMHO
  10. I'm using Tom Tom, Memory map and BeeLine on my Mio550 with no probs so long as I exit one GPS application before opening another.
  11. Yeah- WELL DONE, Mark, Donna (Stig, Peggy, geomuts) !
  12. Loads of the above things plus - tweezers for extracting logs from nanos, calculator for mathematical multis, and I've got a really useful telescopic magnet - handy for magnetic micros in inacessible spots and for poking into out of reach places and grotty holes!
  13. So it's between 95 and 102! Shouldn't be long til someone gets it!!!
  14. 'Who walks round graveyards taking pictures of gravestones.... must be a stranger game than this one ....' You did make me titter!! Thanks for the laugh! The other day we parked in the recommended spot where a car was already. Cachers, we knowingly agreed. And in the distance where we knew the cache to be we saw 2 figures which, of course, confirmed our theory. As the couple then approached us, I didn't pop the PDA in my pocket, as usual, thinking they'd notice and start to chat but they walked past, so I yelled 'walking or caching?' to which they looked at me like I was off another planet! Then they walked past the parked car too! In Summer, we also met a bloke twice, on Woodbury Common, with a GPSr who was just out walking- so that fooled us too! Thankfully, we've met loads of cachers and whiled away several merry minutes in geochatting.
  15. Well done - you got it!!! DING! He scored 1 try for England v Argentina Dec 96 and 1 try against England for the Barbarians May 04 Over to you......
  16. Not Jonah Lomu but as you've worked so hard- here's an almighty big clue: You got the right initials!
  17. You mean Martin Johnson..........! Not the answer I'm looking for
  18. I just did a search by keyword 'trolley' and found over 30 'Off yer trolley!....' Hope that helps
  19. To help you along.....He's retired from international rugby now, last match was against England.
