  1. You might try CacheSense (Formerly CacheBerry). I use it on my Curve and it's great.....
  2. I use Cacheberry. Very good product.
  3. It would be nice to type in a zip code and then request only caches that are North, South, East or West of that central point. It would greatly cut back on the number of caches I download just to get a certain area I want to work on.

    Ohio Cachers

Northern Union County here. Right in the corner of Union, Marion & Delaware Counties.....
  5. Off Road Diesel does not have all the sulfur removed and is not as clean as highway diesel.... I presume it's the same reason that boat diesel is cheaper than car diesel. Basically, it's diesel without the highway taxes. They put a die in it, and if you use it in your car, you can get fined. (At least, that's what I assume off-road diesel is.)

    KML Upload

I'm creating a route with Google Earth and saving it as a KML file. When I browse to the file and select it then I click on the UPLOAD button. The computer does a little processing and then NOTHING. It goes to the upload information screen and shows nothing uploaded. I've tried several different methods of creating the kml file but nothing works. I'm running Windows Vista IE7 Any help?
  7. I use the Tungsten E with Cachemate. It cost to register the program but is well worth it as you simply use Gsak on your desktop and export to Cachemate format and sync your palm and your done. Great way to log caches.
  8. What I did was put out a new container and moved it about 50' away. You can create a log on your cache to change the coordinates as long as its not very far away. If it's too far you can contact your reviewer, explain why you're moving it and they can make bigger changes to your coordinates so you don't have to archive and create a new cache.
  9. GSAK supports output to a CSV file which Excel imports into individual columns making using it as a database very easy...... I want to have a database of all my finds on my pocket PC, so when I go caching with friends, which I do a lot of, when we get to an area I have done some caching in but they haven't I can check on caches to see if they are ones I have already found or not. That way I won't log the same cache twice. Do they make GSAK for pocket PC yet? (I'll go look now, but if someone knows) GSAK is a desktop application that can output to txt file format among many others. From there, import to your Excel and then save it to your PPC.
  10. I've used a Planters Peanut Jar (the large 5x5x8). It's plastic and the lid seals extremely well. I've hidden two that never leaked, but both were muggled. My newest is a paintball pod (roughly 2x12") with a snap close lid. Waterproof and easy to open, painted a in a nice camo pattern.
  11. Got mine today and it's not activated either. Can't wait to get it out.
  12. My son is in Iraq now and we're going to El Paso to visit Daughter-In-Law and hoping to do some caches in the area. We hope to be there about 4 weeks over Christmas and into January. We'll be checking this thread as well for listings of good caches in the area..... Also thinking of a trip to Roswell NM. Thanks, JBDiver
  13. This is on a small island next to Troopers Island, there is none listed on the island itself.. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...6b-ddb49d5126cf It's called Prickly Throne.
  14. November 30th sounds just right.....
  15. Thanks, I thought I might be doing something wrong. I'll be looking for another publication.....
  16. I received an email for Waypoint GCXBAX, but when I click on the link I get the following message. Sorry, you cannot view this cache listing until it has been published. Do we usually get published notification before the cache is actually published???
  17. ?!?I have a vintage record player that looks kind of like that... If you've ever looked in a fish tank, it looks just like the treasure chest aerator that is in a lot of those tanks....
  18. The .loc file doesn't download the hint or description. You have to download the .gpx file (you must be a premium member). I ran into this very same problem and it works beautifully witht he gpx...... JBDiver
  19. Heck, I'd pay $3.75 just for the PQs. But typically it's not worth it if you're only interested in MOCs. Around here anyways, there are only a few people who use that, and typically only for the first month or so, and then they remove that attribute and make it available to everyone. I'll see your 3.75 and and raise you a quarter - and I agree - all the MOCs I've seen have been downgraded after ftf or a few weeks. That said, it's so time consuming compiling a whole series of hunts (especially on a trip or something) without the pqs that the 3 bucks is definitely worth it. Try it for a month or two and then stop if you're not absolutely delighted! I appreciate all the replies. I will look it over and review in more detail the benefits of Premium Membership and probably go that way. Thanks for everything.
  20. Would it be possible to get just the description of the Members Only Caches so we can see if they are interesting enough to help us make up our mind to become Premium Members. That would be a very strong reasoning if the caches seemed to be excellent caches.
  21. Any good hints (besides hiding well) on how to avoid getting muggled? I want to put out a replacement cache, but don't want to get muggled again . Thanks, JBDiver
  22. THIS UNIT IS PENDING. AWAITING MONEY ORDER......
  23. I have a Magellan Pioneer that works perfectly. I can let it go for $30 shipped...
