  1. What a nice coin. Will you be doing any trades? Windrose
  2. Wow ~tasia~ that's even prettier than the other one, congratulations. Windrose
  3. I’ve been taking the Bug Crew caching with me for almost 4 years. And the “crew” grows larger every year. This was Noah and Marisa’s first cache in June of 2003. He had just turned 3 and she had just turned 2. I called them the B Crew (for Baby). Otteria (aged 3) joined the “B Crew” in May of 2005 and they officially became “The Bug Crew”. Then Angel (aged 10) started caching with us June of 2006. They have been to more playgrounds, in more cities, than I can count. The playgrounds are as a big a draw for them as “finding treasure”. 4. Wow, that's great. Congratulations. Oh dear -- another mystery coin to drool over. Windrose
  5. Well I agree with everyone else and say that you should definately report them to TPTB, and I would send them an email letting them know that threats are not allowed and that you have reported them to gc.com administration. The situation might resolve itself. (i.e. They will back off, or TPTB will tell them to stop, or TPTB will ban them.) Windrose
  6. Well, while I understand their point of view, there's no need to be rude about it. And no need to get bent out of shape, it's not even a unique icon. Threats tend to make me do the opposite of what the person wants. So I would tell them "Sorry you feel that way. Have a nice day." But I wouldn't let them log the coin again. Bottom line - it's your coin now to do with as you please. If they want to get upset, they should be upset with the person who sold you the coin. It was "their" coin they logged, not yours. Windrose
  7. Yeah, I figure they'll need maintenance every once in a while to repair the cammo. I plan to take the can of fleck spray paint out with me when I do my cache maintenance (spring and fall) and touch it up. I haven't placed them yet. I made them over the winter and have them in the yard right now to see how they hold up. I open and close the containers every couple of days to see how they'll hold up with extended use & already one of the containers has come "unstuck" from the foam. It still fits in the cavity but you can slide it right out. I'm going to get some Gorilla glue and see if it will hold the container in. I also hollowed out a couple of small stumps and put caches inside of them. They seem to be holding up pretty well too. Except that one has cracked down the side (from the wood shrinking as it dries I guess) and the container was visible. I sprayed it with black paint and it's less noticable now. Windrose
  8. Here are a couple of fake rocks I made using the spray foam. The trick is to make sure you spray the foam evenly and then sand it down some. I spray painted it with some of that fleck (fake stone) finish, and sprinkled some dirt over it while it was still wet. They turned out pretty good, but it's definately something that needs a little practice. Windrose
  9. Wow, jsam and coreynjoey those are pretty good odds. I've only released 3 coins into the wild to travel and all three disappeared after only a couple of caches. So I've become a little cynical about releasing coins. I have left many coins in caches as swag though (for the next cacher to keep). Windrose
  10. Wow, that's great SoC, congrats. I sure the GSA would come a little farther up the state . Windrose
  11. Wow LadyBee4T, congrats. Sure hope the GSA visits a couple more caches in Michigan. You know the Saginaw Bay area is a great place to visit. Lots of great caches. Windrose
  12. I went caching last weekend and twice I broke through the snow and down into holes filled with icy water at least 6 or 7 inches deep. It was definately a shock (I had tennis shoes on ). I think that's why it was in the dream. Well, I hope you give the coin a good home. Windrose
  13. Well at least it's some consolation that he didn't get it. That terrain sure was extreme, wasn't it? (The last thing I remember is slogging through deep mud and even deeper icy puddles of water, with no end in sight. ) Windrose
  14. Well, you're certainly haunting mine. I had a dream about finding a GSA coin last night. That's never happened before. Even with the Geocoin Fairy -- I really (really) wanted one, but I didn't have a dream about it. This dream was kind of confused (as my dreams usually are) and included bits from my every day life, but mostly involved rushing and fighting in an attempt to beat someone else (who wasn't even a cacher - but was someone I'm not very fond of at work ) to a cache where there was a GSA coin. Very weird, and unfortunately I woke up before I reached the cache so I don't even know if I was able to beat the SOB to the cache and score the coin. Windrose
  15. Me too! Me too! Me too! Well actually, just a bit further north would be great, (say the thumb area of Michigan). Windrose
  16. They've been trying to sell them on ebay everyday also, for $10.99 + 2.00 shipping. They've sold a couple but mostly the auctions end with 0 bids. ((oh and they're auctioning the gold "LE" ones for $22 .)) To be honest, even if these dropped down to a reasonable price of $8 or $9, I wouldn't be interested. Too much bad history. Windrose
  17. It's something I've spent ALOT of time thinking about for the past couple of weeks. And I'm still on the fence.....to sell or not to sell.... And then there's the question off quanity to sell. Not to mention ebay sales. My head hurts. Windrose
  18. Weather is improving here in Michigan. Snow is almost gone, so the GSA won't have to worry about erasing tracks. Nice time to visit . Windrose P.S. Please, please, pretty please
  19. Princess - the first beanie you were given. Windrose
